If we examine the landscape of c-sci today, it appears to be largely the same, except theories that actually address consciousness are considered pseudoscience.

from what i’ve seen, it typically refers to a specific subfield, centered around DMF/Hopf/Wilsan-Cowan/Stefanescu-Jirsa/etc models of whole-brain dynamics
the idea being for conditions like epilepsy/coma, in-silico “surgeries” can be done as proof-of-concept
