Harford County had another impressive turnout at the Kick Out the Clowns and No Kings march this past weekend of 3,500 people! More than five million people participated in over 2,100 rallies and protests around the country. Another example of people power and collective action.

I wish more reporters would report the figures:
No Kings - estimated 11M+ marched across the US
Trump parade - estimated 10-12,000 attended

That's a 1,000x difference. Not a 'landslide' or a 'decisive majority', but a 1,000x wipeout for Trump.

Let that sink in.

Problem is how he views children as “replacements” instead of the unique gifts from God that they are. Either we bring children into the world in unconditional love and for their sake alone, or we are distorting the purpose of procreation.

I still enjoy what I have always enjoyed and I’ve discovered many new authors on top of it.

Definitely. It’s not racist to open our reading repertoire to other voices, cultures, lived experiences. My bookshelves didn’t suffer when I chose to expand them beyond European historical fiction and Western fantasy. Just the opposite, really.

A screenshot of a poem. The poem reads:
Choose your leaders
with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward
is to be controlled
by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool
is to be led
by the opportunists who control the fool.
To be led by a thief
is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen.
To be led by a liar
is to ask to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant
is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.

State Department terminates U.S. support of Ukraine energy grid restoration The USAID initiative had invested hundreds of millions of dollars in helping Ukraine's energy grid recover from attacks from Russia.

There are not enough words to express how corrupt this administration is. From the top down.

I hold 77 million American voters liable for the damage done to the trust and relationships with our allies. As well as for allowing themselves to be fucked in the ass by former KGB Putin.

Legitimate conflict and forgiveness

241. Nor does this mean calling for forgiveness when it involves renouncing our own rights, confronting corrupt officials, criminals or those who would debase our dignity. We are called to love everyone, without exception; at the same time, loving an oppressor does not mean allowing him to keep oppressing us, or letting him think that what he does is acceptable. On the contrary, true love for an oppressor means seeking ways to make him cease his oppression; it means stripping him of a power that he does not know how to use, and that diminishes his own humanity and that of others. Forgiveness does not entail allowing oppressors to keep trampling on their own dignity and that of others, or letting criminals continue their wrongdoing. Those who suffer injustice have to defend strenuously their own rights and those of their family, precisely because they must preserve the dignity they have received as a loving gift from God. If a criminal has harmed me or a loved one, no one can forbid me from demanding justice and ensuring that this person – or anyone else – will not harm me, or others, again. This is entirely just; forgiveness does not forbid it but actually demands it.

Re-reading Francis’s encyclicals, and there are some true bangers.

Fratelli tutti, man.

Agreed. I always respect anyone who recognizes they messed up and own up to it. And make a conscious effort to do and be better. There are those who have owned their racist pasts but are making an effort to learn and be better every day. Have massive respect for it. And am happy to fight with them.

And frankly, the repercussions of this vote extends far wider than just the US. This is not something to easily forgive.

I get it. Shaming people does little to encourage them to do better. But there’s a difference between making mistakes that only affect you or a small group of people and making mistakes that do immense harm and unintended consequences to thousands upon thousands.

Agree with Cat Lady Carolyn. Boycotting Target and other companies that capitulated to Trump’s rejection of DEI sends a message that we disapprove of their cowardice. If Costco and other companies can stand their ground, so can others. Supposed to be a “free” market.

Folks, I don’t know how much longer I can try to get through each day not knowing.

My heart hurts for all those now unjustly unemployed. And I am furious at every single person that allowed this to happen.

Every day has been me trying to cope with the anxiety of not knowing, will I be fired today? Or tomorrow? Or at some point in the near future? And for what? Not poor performance. My supervisors have made it clear that I am doing well.

But so many other federal employees were doing well, too.

Today, I found out that the Department of Defense banned the Well-Read Black Girl anthology by Glory Edim. I was one of its contributors.

I'm really hurt right now. So if you have it in you, please buy books by Black women from independent bookstores.
