I’ve really been digging DEG, a puzzle game demo on Steam. It combines elements from different logic puzzles (LITS, something Nurikabe-adjacent, another one I’ve seen but can’t name, etc.) and combines them into a gigantic grid. store.steampowered.com/app/4044990/...

I appreciate Board Game Arena because it reinforces rules I've overlooked or misinterpreted, if brutally.
From a game of Grove, surely this is a 55-point win (target=50)? Nope, a loss at 40. I didn't know that points stranded on glades don't count, so that full 15-point wheelbarrow is worthless.
Thank you for going into that in the show. My brain kept snapping back to that moment as the movie went on, and it was a relief(?) to hear you found it just as jarring. One character calling it out as bad was negated by another doubling down on it right after.

Thrilled to have made it to game one of the NLL finals this year. I haven’t done many games this year, but I’ve really missed going and what a great game it was. I’m still coming down off the adrenaline hours after the game ended. #LetsGoBandits
Two downsides: One, I wish the Archeoscope (code wheel) was sturdier and reading the clues didn’t feel so clunky. Two, the small stack of game disks suggests a limited number of premade games (and the web app doesn’t contain more), not that I’ll run out soon or start memorizing them.

I picked up ArcheOlogic last week. It’s a neat game where you try to place buildings in a grid using clues derived from a code wheel. Bigger clues cost more time, and the first player to find the correct arrangement wins. I’ve only done a couple solo games so far, but can’t wait to try multiplayer.
