I mean I can hardly talk, there was a time I'd be sure to read every post in my Twitter feed on my Blackberry. But I do disappear when I see people who can't travel on an escalator on the underground without swiping a fresh TikTok video for the 40 second journey.

Hope there's another political story in the news about who knew what when, love them.

This is the best I could do with a quick script pull.
Would go along with it people said Depeche Mode were the biggest cult band in the world.

The winning goal was another 25-yard shot - again from Blackstones' central defender - coming from their second chance of the game. Gary Cooper, recently signed from Old Boys, had a good debut.

GW33 has already started, but last week was a big one. Spurs deeper into the muck. Man City with a chance of making a fight of it.
I'm a broken record on this but the radicalisation and brain rot of Gen X/boomers is a massively under-appreciated problem

We talked about this, Mum. Not in front of my wife.
Tough on MILFs, tough on the causes of MILFs.
If you are in the mood for some stretched-out Gabriel and Talk Talk adjacent mumbling NW English prog, fill your boots. Buyer beware if not. 'One Day Like This' is the obvious point where they unveiled a festival anthem, but 'Ribcage' on their second album was when I knew it would happen for them.
100% this. I did think they were going to be big in 2001, and they ended up being big in 2008. Granted, they were not festival-anthem-ready at this point and being allegedly kicked off the front of NME in favour of a five-piece from NY may have set them back.

Same here in Reading with kids travelling from London. I wonder if train ticket volumes for peak journeys by U16s would reveal some of these flows where rail is a viable commute?
No it isn't. Might it be the most annoying salary to earn to the nearest pound? Maybe. That doesn't make it the worst, especially to people who wouldn't earn that in four or five years.
On balance, I would not be annoyed if I had to update this therunoutgrooves.substack.com/p/please-do-...
the final episode of this beloved British sitcom features the main character being killed in a hit and run accident and it is strongly implied that his wife murders the driver involved after befriending her.
And while I don't believe in Reagan trickle-down economics from the very top, I think it is bad if families like that keep the £100 each month rather than spending most of it in a local business. Means less for tips, fewer extra shifts, less chance of hiring extra staff etc.
(This will also happen if your kids are now 8 and 11, not 2 and 5, but you won't factor that in!)
Yes, this is what I was heading towards. If you have less actual money left than before, you absolutely notice. If you used to have, say, £80 left for a £75 family meal out before payday, pre-pandemic, and now you have £100, but the meal costs £120, you can be better off but feel worse off.
Yes, while people could say to anyone it applies to that "Your wages have gone up 25% since the pandemic", they can shoot back that their food bill, streaming costs, car insurance, gas, water, and train ticket have gone up more and ignore all the things that haven't gone up as fast as their wages.
Lost forever in a happy crowd open.substack.com/pub/therunou... This record is 45 today, so time to tackle a second Cure closing track.

The guy in this being called Trevor still amuses me a decade later.
I'd say if you put him on a pedestal he'd only disappoint you.
I spent 16, SIXTEEN years fighting this crap.
I can’t believe it 😭
