it's sort of arbitrary. it's more about the difference between ratings than the center. i'm stealing 1500 base from chess.

seems like the left side gets truncated as the poor players get voted out and stop attending tribals (thus stop losing elo score) while the returning players attend more tribals and thus can accumulate higher scores.
after the latest episode, Cirie is up to #2 all time in strategy elo (SHALLOW). still a long way off the model's namesake for #1.

On the strategy side Emily and Christian are both 9-0 in votes through six episodes. Nearly identical SHALLOW ratings (1607 vs. 1617).
The difference is BEAST. Christian: B-tier (1528). Emily: F-tier (1372).
Ozzy quietly having a nice strategy season, Cirie well positioned.

Dee wins immunity in Episode 6 but lost BEAST Elo.
The model uses full placement ordering, not just win/lose. Dee won her group but placed 11th overall.
Stephenie placed 1st (+128.7), Rick placed last (-108.8).

#Survivor50
All of this on top of the existing tools: full rankings with tier filtering, episode-by-episode snapshots, season progression charts, tribe breakdowns, and head-to-head player comparisons.
Also moved the episode recap blog posts into the site directly. Survivor 50 episodes 1-5 all have full SHALLOW & BEAST breakdowns with data tables and analysis.
Player names are now clickable everywhere: rankings, episode snapshots, season snapshots, tribe snapshots. Click any name, get the full profile.
Active season players get a LIVE badge (or OUT if they've been eliminated). Quick-filter buttons for currently airing seasons sit at the top of the rankings page. Right now that's Survivor 50 and Australian Survivor: Redemption.
Every player page has a "comparable players" section - found using Euclidean distance across SHALLOW rating, BEAST rating, and experience. So Cirie matches with other high-strategic, low-challenge players, not just anyone with a similar Elo.
Added percentile context to key stats. Now when you see 83% vote accuracy, you also see that's 92nd percentile. Elo ratings, vote accuracy, outlast %, and challenge win rates all show where a player falls in the population. Orange = elite, blue = poor.
Each profile shows both SHALLOW (strategic) and BEAST (challenge) ratings side by side, so you can see the full picture. Cirie: #4 strategic, #853 challenge. Joe Anglim: #2 challenge, #967 strategic.
The biggest update: every established Survivor player now has their own dedicated profile page. 572 players, each with career stats, season-by-season Elo breakdowns, and a chart tracking their rating across every tribal council they've ever attended.
Big update to survivorelo.com, added a bunch of new features this weekend.
