Burchett is right: the most DC thing ever *is* a member of Congress blaming the city for something he and his colleagues did themselves.

The report said registration hurdles, voter roll purges and access limits disproportionately kept Black, Latino, young and disabled Alabamians from participating.

There’s a very real discussion to be had about Nick Saban handling retirement about as poorly as he possibly could because holy hell there’s only a couple more things below what he’s done to tarnish his legacy that would be worse
Took at 2 and 4-year-old to Record Store Day and there are better decisions I’ve made for my anxiety
Host: Minnesota prosecutors have charged ICE agent Gregory Danell Morgan Jr. with 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon, alleging he pointed his government-issued firearm at two people in another vehicle. Officials are investigating more than a dozen incidents from the immigration crackdown.

Weeks after she was taken from her home in Anniston, Alabama by ICE agents while still in her nightgown, 86-year-old widow Marie-Therese Ross has now returned to France.
Marie-Therese Ross, an 86-year-old woman who left her home in France to marry her former sweetheart and start a new life in Alabama, was taken from her home in Anniston earlier this month by ICE agents.
Ned Grabavoy says Phil will get the full 14 matches before the WC break for evaluation. Even with the win over a heavily rotated LAFC:
1) Do you think he still gets those 14 matches?
2) Is he coaching the Timbers in Seattle to start post-WC play?
This really should not be a surprise to anyone. But then I wrote a post in 2024 listing Hungary's influence op as one of the things NOT being covered bc of the 1000th Joe Biden Old story.
Ironically, for that last point, the thought process usually goes the other way.
Oh yikes! Missed that entirely
Ranch House isn’t Greek, though, and Makario’s joining that location is a recent addition in attempt to drive income with longer hours and expanded menu.
“Appearing to”? Who else could this be?
Makario’s?
Two owned by Greeks (Ranch House, Pappas’s) with one having an absolutely wild story of financial miscalculation and the other just a raw emotional old Greek couple screaming at each other. Good luck figuring out which is which.
Tasty Town was downtown, Fish Market has Greek dishes but not specifically a Greek restaurant. Other than that, I don’t know of anything downtown. What neighborhood was it in?
You’re not going to believe which major city in Alabama has the 2nd highest Greek population
It’s kinda insane. I live by 65/31 and just from my house to Shades Crest, there’s Waldo’s, Dave’s, Guthrie’s, and Zaxby’s in those 3-ish miles. We’ve been here 5 years and only Zaxby’s existed in that stretch when we moved in. There can’t be that many chickens.
Like AOC is gaining traction, there’s still a primary for people to step on rakes, and Pete, despite his flaws, can maybe communicate his way to a solid standing to just right the sinking ship USS US, but the fact 2/5 people think running it back or Gavin solves this is headache inducing
With minimal starting pitching and Ronnie in a rut, the Braves decision to simply run it back is…working so far? Schedule has been manageable, but still.

And apparently they made a decent pasticho? Which is really difficult given my attempts at Greek restaurants in other cities. Nothing has ever compared to what we serve at the festival.
These remain so incredibly disheartening
My wife brought up the point when we discussed it that no one is going to go out and pay top dollar for something they can make at home unless it’s clearly head and shoulders over what can be done in their own kitchen, but I still don’t get the disconnect between our Festival crowds & 0 restaurants
No Greek restaurant will ever survive in this town, somehow.
