The 20th session of the EUSPA Administrative Board has finished, outlining important decisions and updates.
Key outcomes:
• Overview of the operational activities, including market downstream and innovation, communications, EGNOS and Galileo activities, GOVSATCOM and EU SST Frontdesk activities.
Pleased to welcome H.E. Snøfrid Byrløkken Emterud, Norwegian Ambassador in the Czech Republic.
Norway's an active participant in the EU Space Programme. Norwegian company Kuniko demonstrates how Copernicus can help make mineral exploration more targeted and efficient, even in challenging conditions.
The successful operational use of the GOVSATCOM Hub by Cyprus proves that space is no longer an extra, but a critical infrastructure. By pooling our resources, we are building a more resilient and secure Europe, ensuring that every Member State has the connectivity it needs to protect its citizens.
Alongside OSNMA Day, I also visited key operational sites in Torrejón de Ardoz: the MESPA (Spanish Space Command) and S3TOC (Spanish Space Surveillance & Tracking Operation Centre).

Galileo OSNMA Day
OSNMA Initial Service brings authentication into use:
- It helps counter spoofing by letting users verify navigation data is genuinely from Galileo.
- The declaration also supports EU rules for Smart Tachograph v2: new smart tachographs in the EU must integrate OSNMA.

EUSPA has signed a new launch contract with ARIANESPACE for the deployment of the second pair of Galileo Second Generation satellites (Galileo L18), to be launched aboard Ariane 6 under the delegation of the European Commission, strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy.

Since 2021, EUSPA has become the user-oriented operational arm of the EU Space Programme, delivering secure and high-performing space services that support the EU’s economy, safety and autonomy.
We're proud that EUSPA hosts and co-implements the EU’s €1 billion CASSINI initiative with the @ec.europa.eu, providing funding, mentorship, and tailored support. CASSINI has already mobilised over €2.2 billion in private funding, engaged >1,500 start-ups, and supported the creation of 600+ jobs.
