Read the book earlier in the month, which is a series of loosely connected short stories, separated across centuries, which felt much more affecting - the film comes from the title story only

Enjoyed this BUT didn’t think it developed enough beyond the short story and, great as they are, both Mescal and O’Connor have delivered much more intense-but-restrained 🏳️‍🌈 performances than this, the depth of emotion felt a bit lacking

(also, took AGES to find a showing, surprisingly few screens!)
