a child who was punished for their feelings learns to lock them away, growing into an adult who fears the flood of their own emotions. healing means daring to open the floodgates and trusting that your tears will not drown you—they will free you.

All I need on this chilly night: a La Croix, a cozy blanket, my recliner, a charcuterie board, and my laptop to dive into my novel. Perfect vibes.

with the right person
your edges soften,
your voice feels lighter,
like a secret whispered only to the moon.

they hold a mirror
but it shows you
not as you were,
but as you could be—
a stranger once,
now familiar.

you look back
and finally stay.

One thing I’ve learned recently is to stop sending long messages explaining how I feel. If someone doesn’t care, they just don’t—and nothing you say will change that. Don’t waste your time and energy on people who never valued you. Protect your peace and keep your guard up.
