Future survey waves (2026–27) will track how fast and how un/evenly AI spreads within and across individuals.

🔎 Takeaway:
AI use in Spain is (was in 2025) substantial but far from universal, highly heterogeneous, and tightly woven into the use of broader set of modern technologies.
Early adoption is associated with temporarily widened perceived opportunity gaps.
📈 Workers’ expectations mirror AI adoption.
Those who say AI is the most important tech in their job report more favorable labor market prospects.
Among non‑users, 35% say “don’t know” when asked if they’ll adopt AI soon, highlighting early‑stage uncertainty.
👩💼👨🔧 Within occupations there is a lot of heterogeneity in use.
Raw rankings show a clear skill gradient—professionals, managers, and technicians on top.
But when we adjust for demographics or use of other technologies, the ranking shifts and dispersion shrinks.
🌐 Co‑use matters.
AI rarely appears alone.
Workers using big data, AR/VR, 3D printing are much more likely to report a recent introduction of AI.
AI diffusion is emerging as part of a broader modern tech bundle, not an isolated shock.
🧠 What do workers do with AI?
The most common use is text generation, but men are more likely to use AI for data analysis, automation, and decision support, while women use it more for written content.
AI use is deeply integrated: most users engage with AI multiple times per week.
AI adoption/use is real, but uneven and far from universal.
🔹 20% of workers report using AI at work.
🔹 ~40% use cloud services or collaboration tools.
🔹 30% use none of the listed technologies.
Strong gradients by education, age, occupation, wages.
Our survey uncovers how AI adoption varies across workers, firms, occupations, and tasks, and how it compares to other workplace technologies.
