Over at @insessionfilm.bsky.social, I did a write-up on how 2026 could be a career-defining year for Anne Hathaway.
An overdue moment for her since her Oscar win IMO.

BLUE HERON is a spellbinding feature debut from Sophy Romvari that, even a day later, has me under its spell. A reconciliation of memory including the idea of who someone is vs. who they actually might be, this one struck a chord with me.
Robbie G.K., god damn!!
It's all easy for her to say. She runs her own production company and lifestyle brand and, above all, is Reese Witherspoon. So, the thought or potential of unemployment doesn't have to worry her.
Already has me fearing for your health.

As much as I we don't really need another LOTR movie, maybe I'll see the new one for the visual effects.
I'm sorry. I just think given everything that's going on, I don't think politicians like Murphy or Booker going on book tours is the best call to action right now.
I mean, if I'm weary of leaders in a deep-blue state like mine, what does that mean?
In today's edition of Matt's Political Doomsaying Chronicle, I find out that Chris Murphy, the senator of my own state, is the latest politician to go on a book tour when he can focus more on, well.. *gestures towards everything* ๐
My review of the BAFTA-winning dramedy I SWEAR, which hits US theaters next Friday and features one of the year's best performances by Robert Aramayo, is now live. Take a look!!
Happy Birthday, Saoirse Ronan!!!
In honor of her birthday, her Top 5 performances to date IMO:
1. Brooklyn
2. Atonement
3. Lady Bird
4. Hanna
5. Mary Queen of Scots
Within the first 15 minutes, I've thought to myself that Roy Scheider in this is maybe the hottest a man has ever looked on screen. Also, much like his performance, this movie is fire!!!!
Been meaning to finally watch this and figured I'd make tonight the night.

After seeing THE DRAMA last weekend and sitting with it, I think Alana Haim might be the film's acting MVP.
As smug and self-righteous as Rachel may be, Haim has a magnetic presence whenever she's on screen. Hard trick to pull off for a role like hers.
As the Cameron Diaz-ssaince continues, I'm hoping at some point down the line she gets another great dramatic role. While she's a gifted comedienne, she's just as great at drama.
Russell Tovey, the man that you are
The Cannes titles I'm most excited for (AKA ones likely to inspire the most FOMO):
All of a Sudden
The Black Ball
Her Private Hell
Parallel Tales
Sheep in the Box
The Man I Love
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
I wish I could just shut out the voice in my head telling me that everyone hates me.
Almost ashamed to admit that but I have to fight off those feelings sometimes. :(
Started listening to the new Raye album and, to echo what others have said, 007 hasn't even best cast yet but they should already have her do the next Bond theme.
I know. But if Criterion came through with ALL OF US STRANGERS, maybe they'll come to the rescue for this one.
As promised on here, my write-up on Lewis Pullman is live. Particularly, on his overlooked work in THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE which grew stronger on rewatch while highlighting arguably the story's biggest missed opportunity. Take a look!
Because over at the other place, I've noticed a bit of Anthony Perkins thirst which, yeah. He was easy on the eyes. But also, I've thought if they ever made a biopic on him, I know who my #1 choice is...
Tonight's "ideal" holiday weekend viewing....
#NowRewatching THE WICKER MAN (1973)
I fear every Robbie GK photo shoot pic I stumble across will be the death of me.
