The CSIRO have cut the jobs.. the government have not cut any funding.. do the research Sir.

But they haven’t actually “cut” funding.. the wording is important.. there are certainly arguments to increase spending I agree, (though I’m sure there are things like diet books that we can do without)

Economic case for Hobart stadium just doesn't add up, experts say An expert planning panel has defended their scathing assessment of Hobart's proposed Macquarie Point stadium while speaking to the politicians who will ultimately decide the project's fate.

It's an absolute dud. "The stadium benefits a subsection of the community, but the whole community pays for it." Both Thomas and Harriss need to say no for it to fall through. I am not feeling confident. #politas

But are there actually cuts to the funding? Genuine question.. I read that they increased the number of jobs by 25% three years ago, did not reduce CEO huge bonuses and now can’t balance the books.
Cuts or just bad management?

Just a screenshot of my novel Gunnawah on the Amazon webpage showing it's now a Number 1 best seller, which is a ridiculous brag but who the hell else is going to do it for me?

Ahem

Today my debut novel #Gunnawah officially became the Number 1 best seller

That means I'll get a private jet, and a 10 year supply of Grey Goose and Tim Tams, and a marching team of cartwheeling dachshunds and . . . . .

(I'll just get a red sticker on the front cover 😎)

“We are seeing a troubling trend of American-style abortion politics being imported into Australia. It’s coming from a small group on the right seeking to politicise a deeply personal issue.”

How in the fuck do we live in a world where Trump can openly fund a bloody genocidal war then later get praised for a ceasefire of the same bloody genocidal war?

High prices, looming ban factors in disappearance of sheep export ships Market dynamics are stopping live export ships from coming to WA for the rest of the year, raising the prospect of an official end to the trade years before a legislated ban is enforced.

NO LIVE EXPORTS FOR REMAINDER OF 2025

"No live export vessels are scheduled to take sheep from Australia to the Middle East for the rest of 2025, raising speculation an unofficial end to the trade could come ahead of a legislated ban in 2028."

"our one big idea is to rebalance the tax system so that productivity gains are fairly shared, housing becomes more affordable, and essential services are properly funded."

Hardly radical.
Dispiriting that such basic principles need to be argued for at all. #inequality #auspol

Blowing up your small-town writers festival because your local university needs to crack down on free speech because there’s a genocide we can’t talk about is so utterly on-brand for Australian culture. Cowards and fools 3-deep at the canapés tray

So, we're just going to let Morrison enjoy his millions and his dregs continue to profit from their safe jobs and forget about ROBODEBT are we? The NACC is a sick joke. People died, but we'll just forget about it this time eh? Everyone should remind the politicians that we're waiting for justice.

The AUKUS Alliance: A Bad Deal for Australia Extensive concerns plague the AUKUS deal, highlighting the risks to Australia of this bad deal.

Morrison’s enthusiasm for AUKUS raises questions about potential conflicts of interest, particularly in light of his rapid transition to high-paying roles in the defence and strategic advisory industries after leaving politics.

It's way past time this turnstile of gift stopped. In any commercial enterprise.
There MUST be a period before these appointments can be accepted. Insider knowledge and sphere of influence is gone. Likewise, opening the books on lobbying. Without these measures we remain open to corruption!

So on investigation, Stats NZ says butter prices rose 46.5% in the year to June. Meanwhile, ANZ's Commodity Indices shows the NZ dollar denominated measure of dairy prices rose 23.6% over the same period. Hopefully useful for a journalist asking Fonterra and/or Nicola Willis about butter prices.

When Obama warned against Brexit in 2016, the right screamed “foreign interference.”

Now Trump stands on Air Force One telling Starmer to “stop the boats” and “cut taxes” to beat Reform and they call it diplomacy.

Brexit made U.K. small again.
