I was once told that grief doesn't get easier, it just gets harder.
The immediate pain of losing someone is heartbreaking, but the long term pain of missing them often hits so much worse.
3 years ago, I went to hospital with suspected appendicitis. Within a week, I'd be given 24 hours to live and require two life saving operations.
Yes, this post is self-indulgent, but I want to make a point that you dont know what's around the corner.
Go do what makes you happy

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
It feels like we've come such a long way but as long as people feel that s*****e is the only answer, there is still more work to do.
No one should ever feel that is the only option.
Someone, somewhere cares about you!
Every day, there is a new reason to be grateful for friends.
Text a friend today and ask how they are!
Sometimes, I text you once a year, sometimes ten times a day.
No matter how often you hear from me, you can always contact me and ask for help!!
Friendships aren't defined by the number of times we speak!
This image says it all...
Thanks to those who just check in on me from time to time.
Had a very rough few weeks. Decided a needed a break. Went away for a weekend.
Maybe you don't need to be a grandiose and dramatic as that, but you deserve a break. Look after yourself!
Being overwhelmed is allowed but don't let it define your next move.

Keep hold of what helps you.
My son is my universe, and every time I pick him up, my life is just a little bit better.
Be a child, a partner, a friend, a keepsake, a momentum, a toy, whatever it is, let the happiness flow
Sent by a very dear friend of mine.
Could be very helpful to you
Congratulations to Sir Stephen Fry for services to mental health. A hugely deserved honour!
Nothing more to say
You want to know a reason why people font ask for help?
Because last week, when I asked 3 people, when I told them I was struggling, they proceeded to say "me too" and delved into their problems.
I do not minimise their issues and will gladly help, but they didn't listen to me.
Life may throw some things your way, but how you deal with them is what makes you a superstar.
As Confucius said, "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."
You got this, no matter what the hardship.
