Celebrating our city's rich basketball legacy!
75 years ago today, the Rochester Royals — now the Sacramento Kings — captured the NBA Championship, defeating the New York Knicks 79-75 in game 7 at Edgerton Park Arena right here in Rochester.

Blue Jays ticket locked in for August ✅⚾️
When you’re a kid, everything is perceived as hyper local. I thought it was a Syracuse University logo.
I had to eat drive-thru fast food last night because I was in a rush and now, even though I had breakfast, I’m hungry and my stomach is growling non-stop at 10 a.m. Even though it was like 1,200 calories. That stuff is so nasty.
Work/life balance is a myth, except for the note in my Outlook calendar to take out the trash tonight.
It feels good to not be on a board of directors for the first time in a decade. Here’s to having time to work on the backyard hangout space.
Now, I’m also missing Toronto.
“Arthur Comics,” The Stalk-Forrest Group, 1970
Lyrics: Richard Meltzer
Lyrics I heard today that I liked:
The only recent comics
With stories on the cover
But it's too old, you won't find them
Unless you borrow my copy
It is about the
Mustard disaster
You'll find out which way it fell
When you check the alabaster
'Cause then you will know
The real Archie Bell
I just saw some snowflakes

Come for the music, stay for the geography lessons.
A red poppy with a black center and a yellow pistol growing in the backyard. An unopened flower is immediately behind it.
Take a picture, it’ll last longer.
OK, we’re probably going to get a hard freeze on Monday so…
Who called it a pickleball court and not a mayonaisium?
What are the best record shops to check out around Buffalo? I want to take some day trips out there this summer.
I went to Mt. Hope a couple times before they closed the original location, but I lived a lot closer to their place on East Ave. near where their store is now. Rochester has some great record stores, with Bop Shop and Needle Drop. I also used to go to the Lakeshore Record Exchange on Park Ave.
There are actually two records I want, but if they’re both available I’ll get the one I want most today and then take my chances that there will still be copies of the other a couple weeks from now. That’s called self-restraint. 😊
I know what I want from Record Archive on Record Store Day, but I’m not saying, because I want there to still be copies when I get there. (There will almost certainly be copies left.)
I would’ve gone with scalping, but this would be good too.

I’m avoiding the Spaceballs II trailer, because 1) I want to be surprised by the gags and 2) I don’t want to go into the movie worried it’s going to suck (or blow).
I just feel exasperated
I don’t expect him to deliver it to me, however I could’ve picked it up since I stop by often anyway.
My Dad mailed me something today. My folks live 15 miles away.

Two teal PostIt notes point to the Word of the Week in a dictionary. Mayhap adv. Perhaps; perchance. [From the phrase it may hap.]
I realized I haven’t fully kept up with hipsters and my image of what they’re gatekeeping is 15-20 years out of date. 😳
