Binomial expansion for year 13. If they have not learnt geometric series and sequence- would you teach them how to find a valid range of values for which expansion is valid ???

Thank you all for your responses and all suggestions. Much appreciated. We are talking about moving away from the first few sections of Edexcel text book and it seems very time consuming. RCR not my fav thing but you can’t get away from it - I guess.

Maria we do mixture of past paper questions and other questions from text books. Have prepared worksheets to reflect SOW. Also have pearson tests as a mini test in the class and disused questions are part of follow up homework. So total 2/3 hours of homework - in addition to independent work.

I do this and it works really well. I have my FM group - doing A level in first year run this. They use this as a practice and mastery. I help them with resources and we mainly focus on exam questions and mark schemes. So all students are from the same year group so they know each other too.
