2025 is taking itself a little too seriously.

First light at 7.30...
sipping coffee, writing stories, plotting.
Sunset...
When @rickoshea.bsky.social says a song is JUST about a nice cup of tea and not to read anything into it and suddenly I'm reading everything into a song I've previously not reading anything into at all for the past fifty years and my eyebrows hit the ceiling.
Morning all πβΊοΈπ«
Fantastic launch for THE KILLING SENSE by @samblakebooks.bsky.social - buy it, read it, love it, try not to actually do the murdery stuff...
Looking good, Dublin
Some books take more blood and guts than others. This one took an entire cadaver.
Ugly bin slippers
The Guardian has published a piece on the correct slippers to wear for different occasions and I realise I have been doing everything wrong.
Oh this is really useful, thank you - so the spelling indicates the speaker! Brilliant stuff, many thanks.
Editors / writers, please:
Is it
M'lord
Or Milord
Or M'lud??!!!
Wrote a thing.
Pitched the thing.
Sold the thing.
Still feel like bleughhh but that's a bleughhh that can pay the rent next month! βοΈ
So, let's try doing #duvetknowitschristmas here this evening? People are literally Driving Home For Christmas right now, which MIGHT JUST mean that they'll be sleeping somewhere unusual. 1/
Death in the Holidays is free on ebook over the festive days - my gift to anyone who fancies a tinselly murder mystery set in a fictional Dublin drag scene!

It's called The Tomorrow Project by Heather Critchlow - it comes out next year, I got lucky π©· it's BLINDINGLY good!
It's friday! That means time for the weekly good news thread! What's your good news from the week? What's made you smile?
I read one of the best dystopian stories I've read for many years, this week, absolutely blew me away. Loved it.
Two full hours of just looking at bridges, and still it took 51 years to be diagnosed neuro-fabulous.
Thank you, I hope your week is happy and gentle x
(In* a good way)
Thank you π
I'm not sure, but I'm a good way? Some wandering. Some thinking and planning. A fair bit of overpriced but very good coffee πβΊοΈ
You summed it up perfectly!!
Morning Sam, I'm off to London, first time as a single person in 25 years.
(I'm also going to almost certainly probably definitely finish writing this book...)
I love that!
My murder mystery series I have a ten book plan, but my twisted crime stuff tends to be standalone so it's always a bit difficult to let the characters go at the end.
Do you chart, or know it in your head?
I rely on post-its βΊοΈ
Absolutely!
How far ahead do you plan?
