Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class.
You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

As 2030 nears, can we talk about education equity without addressing racism?
In this Beyond 2030 blog, Arathi Sriprakash et al. challenge 3 myths—and argue that structural racism must be central to SDG4.
Ignoring it risks normalising inequality.

I recently spoke with FreshEd about the argument at the heart of my new book, #TheTimeInheritors:
inequality is not only about what people have, but also about when they have it.
I also argue that support measures can reproduce inequality. @sunypress.bsky.social

As I continue thinking about asset-based parent engagement, I think it's timely to reshare this older piece on plurilingual parenting - having more than one language in the repertoire is not a deficit but strength and should be viewed as such! theconversation.com/plurilingual...
A real mishmash of research, factoids and blatant prejudice. A report about how families bring up their children without asking a single family for their view.
observer.co.uk/news/nationa...
And a bugbear for me - a student has another language rather than English as their first language? CELEBRATE the multilingual ability. That student can think thoughts that can't be thought in English - because we don't have a word for some things that other languages do have words for.
Not everyone gets to be “relaxed.”
For some, ease is not a trait but a privilege.
In this podcast episode, I talk about time inheritance, time poverty, gendered burdens, and why some people inherit margin while others inherit urgency.
A lot of what looks personal is structural.
Our webinar on outsourced concerted cultivation as one of parenting strategies among middle-class parents in China is coming up in one week. You can still register here lnkd.in/eGuHgTcw @csa-scs.bsky.social
