There's this game that I play with news headlines. I replace the word "Economy" with "Billionaires" and those headlines make WAY more sense.
"Wall Street finally noticed that the economy is unwell"
And yet it didn't matter that the lower classes have been "unwell" for years.
Abelists today: "How dare you ask me to mask in such a not-nice-enough way?"
Abelists tomorrow: "How dare you for being too nice! Now I have covid cancer/immunocomp/ braindamage/etc & you didn't try hard enough to stop me!"

Privilege will always try to tempt you into inaction, always lure you away from the discomfort, and always tell you to ignore the bad news.
