We stayed in Winner's until our match against Strawhats in Finals then went back up to see them again in Grand Finals, and even though we weren't able to adapt to them, we had a blast!

Malibu Rising rose into the runner-up bracket of Big Dapple 10 (narrowly missing Top 8) and finished 2nd place in the bracket! Placing 10th overall at the 10th Big Dapple. Poetic. ✨️✨️✨️
@topicaltoo.bsky.social was our backline, competing with Rose, Merci, and Sherbert, and he killed it on vHeavy!
Big Dapple 10 was a fantastic event! It was definitely an experience both playing with @maliburising.bsky.social and playing heavy the whole time, a change of pace I actually really enjoyed. Its upsetting that I won't be going to any LANs until July but I really enjoyed the ones I went to so far

Proud of us for today! only truly fumbled the final game of the day to decide the champion for the runner-up bracket, meaning we placed 10th out of 20 teams at big dapple 10!

That's us! We got streamed four times last Dapple and think we probably won't hit that many times on stream this Saturday 😆 Wish us luck! Lots of strong teams going this time, so we're excited to learn firsthand!
For now, we'll be scrimming and reviewing and competing when our schedules allow for it!

You can still catch us at various LANs throughout the year! Merci, Sherbert, and Rose will be at Big Dapple on April 11. We're looking into having a crew compete in both Gridlock and Riptide. Hopefully we'll have Emmy up for an NYC LAN later this year and see Nina at Riptide!
Moving ahead, we want to get a solid grasp on fundamentals and make sure we don't burn ourselves out. We jumped from division 9 to division 6. That the games still felt winnable shows we've grown while still leaving lots of room for refinement.
We'll be busy with various life commitments, BUT...
Malibu Rising wraps up LUTI Season 17 with an 0-5 record in Div 6 Group F. We fought some solid teams, and we can't deny it: We fumbled a lot. We were hurting bad.
But we stuck it through, and we're still here. Still learning and getting better together!

We also have to mention that Pearl-Plexed? did the sweetest runback of a game that they were solidly in the lead on when we had an unfortunate 2-for-1 DC taking out both Sherbert and Nina at the same time. They didn't owe us the rerun, but they offered, and even though we lost it, we had a fun game!
