The Charter Window has returned to its home in Barts North Wing after undergoing extensive conservation at @holywellglass in Somerset.

The window depicts Henry VIII re-founding the hospital in 1547, handing the Charter for the hospital to the Lord Mayor of London.

Moses de la Haize left France as a child and donated to the hospital in 1735 and 1749.

Today is World Refugee Day! Did you know that on the walls of Barts North Wing’s Great Hall there are the names of Huguenot refugees and their descendants? Huguenots fled religious persecution in France in the 16th and 18th Centuries.

I had a lovely walk around Clerkenwell this weekend, in preparation for my upcoming well-being walks with Barts Hospital staff. The walks are part of a wider #well-being programme for staff, patients and visitors, organised by @bartsheritage.bsky.social Can’t wait to get started!
