I hate how accurate this is to me personally

essentially all my criticisms of AI are predicated on it being a capitalist con job real estate scam that causes environmental damage at scale and is being sold as a way to snuff out human creativity and I think it's telling that I'm placed on an anti-AI block list. AI advocates are bootlickers.
I missed when websites as an artform in it of itself and it was wasn't flat design or nothing.
A Win 98 screenie of the press CD landing page open in Internet Explorer with Warcraft III, WoW, and SC Ghost labels arrayed around a central Blizzard logo to click on.
A page about Ghost with a glowy render of Nova, the protag, and game blurb about the premise, with scifi terminal aesthetic.
A dwarf flying on a gryphon, hammer raised, in a gorgeous piece of key art with general premise on the left about how it's set four years since Warcraft III.
Digging through an old Blizzard E3 2003 press CD in Windows 98 and come across some neat webpage-based features on the unreleased (;o;) Starcraft: Ghost and World of Warcraft, still deep in development.
SC: Ghost. One of the games I most lament about going unreleased.
ur not gonna believe who just blocked me lol
There's two things have to be done:
1. Like in canada federal an indpendent electoral boundaries commission to minimize conflicts of interest.
2. Voting reform. I know some of Y'all down south would go crazy for STV. I see how you push for ranked choice.

Hello my fellow "anti-ai haters" and "techno pessimists" how are we doing today?
It's a tough competition for what member of the Bluesky staff understands the Bluesky userbase the least, but @why.bsky.team is a top contender.
I am very much an Anti-AI AI Hater. I take much pride in being blocked by the guy who drowned his phone in a pool to try and cool it off.
🚨 BREAKING: 25+ of Canada's leading rights orgs, privacy scholars, and legal experts just delivered a joint letter to Parliament.
The ask? Kill #BillC22.
The reason? It would be "the most expansive invasion of Canadian privacy rights in modern history." 🧵

A social media post from Siobhan Morris, a CTV reporter, stating that the Ontario NDP's motion to ban algorithmic pricing failed by a vote of 35 to 58.
The 58 MPPs who voted against a ban represent just 40% of voters, while the 35 MPPs who voted for a ban represent 60%.
First-past-the-post distorts our democracy. Proportional representation ensures that all governments require broad support to govern.
My overarching experience as a light Claude user is that it's very good as a system advisor if you're not afraid to supplement your investigation with more traditional methods and push back a lot and also that the last thing I'd want to do with it is generate production code (especially blindly).
CCLA and a broad coalition of groups call on all members of Parliament to scrap Bill C-22’s unprecedented and unjustified expansion of surveillance.

A fake install screen for Microsoft Windows 95. On the left quarter of the page is a teal panel showing the old wavy Windows logo, with "Microsoft Windows 95" written up its right side. In the remaining space of the page, in black serif text on a white background, is the following text: Title: Enjoy This While It Lasts One of these days, the idea of just putting Windows on your computer will be a distant memory. Forget sharing a product code, your permission to use Windows will be stored on a centralized server where we can revoke your access at any time if we think you're not giving us enough money. Adware installed by the manufacturer is "unthinkable?" Better start thinkin' it, buddy, 'cause that's FAR from the worst thing we're shoving into your PC. We'll even try to make you use a fake digital person that plagiarizes art and books and also lies to you. Welcome to the future, motherfucker. You should probably just use Linux Mint instead.
Having lot of fun with @alice.averlong.com's Death Generator :3

Just got reminded that we completely forgot to celebrate "Who doesn't have internet?" Day yesterday.
Part of the reason we are seeing the tech dorks say they are over consumer focused tech and focusing on enterprise is because they don't know what normal humans want or how they use computers, or to put it more bluntly: bsky.app/profile/vorn...
1 - a guy mad with crossed arms as someone off screen says 'are you still sick?' 2 - same guy yelling 'i guess' with his arms up in the air artist: kc green mybodyistryingtokillme.com

Season 8 / Episode 6
"Man, that is flagrant false advertising!"
This would be a perfect excuse for Mamdani to provide leadership and issue a demand to NYC hospitals that have withdrawn from gender care for youths.
"Who doesn't have internet?" might quickly change into "Who even wants internet?", if this invasion of our privacy spreads.
Age verification data collection will befall PlayStation services later this year. Partly good intentions aside, be very careful how this is implemented.
"It's just for porn. We'll only scan your face if you wanna consume porn. Don't you want the children to be safe? Please, won't you think of the children? They might see a boob online. The absolute horror. Won't somebody please think of the children?!?"
God I hope Alex Jones is just having the worst day today... and every day for that matter.

Lawful access is back on the House agenda today for a fourth day of debate. My summary of the first three days and the many concerns that remain unanswered.
In a year in which AI has dominated much of the news cycle, the story of Anthropic’s Mythos and the cybersecurity concerns may be the biggest story of them all. Jason Miller joins the Law Bytes podcast to talk about Mythos and the AI governance challenges.
NEW EPISODE! In this Patreon-sponsored episode... it's Undertale. Yep!
