I think it’s ok to cash out the ranking or playability or pick ability into a grade if that matches viewer expectations and use. Was suggesting prior step that converts cleanly into one grading framework you then present.

My favorite idea is rank the cards (pick order them) and then have a formula for converting the rank into a grade. More work is the issue so of course I (a viewer) like this idea.
Another idea is to just curve the grades. “Sorry that’s too many C+ some of these cards are by definition C or C-“
Big fan of your limited set reviews @chordocalls.bsky.social and @neo-mtg.bsky.social but we really need to solve the grading standards mismatch. You guys still get to play the same number of cards and cut the same number even if one of you gave all of them 1-2 grades higher grades.
Ideas to fix:
The film contains the wisdom of an allegory. That chaotic consequences of powerful technology are harder to predict and contain than they are to create. You’re sort of implying wisdom can only be conveyed in arguments?
And they should board in reverse order so the shame walk occurs in front of the maximum number of people in better cabins. “Alright first up is group unwashed masses. Remember no carryon, no personal item that doesn’t fit in the pocket of your mass produced clothes, no use of lavatory.”
Was thinking more about your thread and broader than mtg. Conversations about neurodivergence that have gone mainstream tend to focus on a recently expanded tent of accepted divergences but not necessarily acceptance of disability and divergence with all its inconvenient variance. I hear you.
A complicated topic that most people care not to think about.

Highest in the set or highest all time?
I thought this was a 4 panel EDH thumbnail that said Love Cardboard lol
Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora remain legal in cEDH, so I had fun playing Legacy and Premodern this week. Vote with your feet. (I also voted with my words in the @highermtg.bsky.social poll)
Touch grass
One of the downsides of proxying talking points used to be “if you use fan art, opponents won’t recognize the card”. Meanwhile there’s under 10 people on earth who could recognize all the real versions now.
The “Secret Lair IS that bad” to “Proxying stand alone decks and formats and RL cards” is NOT that bad pipeline keeps humming along
Legal as a Gold token
I know what needs to be done about the copy my Rhystic Study meta. I just don’t know if I have the courage to do it. cards.scryfall.io/large/front/...
But have you ever in all your philosophizing thought about the most obvious boundaries?
Little bit of old little bit of new at last nights cEDH meetup. Revived Slicer with some new cards and brought my Superior Spider-Man deck as well. Both decks performed great!
Still feeling reluctant to invest time in cEDH tourneys with Rhystic legal and the yap for draws meta, but meetup v fun
Bluesky overindexes on humorless scolds and people doing identity formation by arguing with something you didn't say but that doesn't make it an echo chamber; it means the place has an institutional culture, and I much prefer that culture to fending off Nazis with a block button that doesn't work
Heroes in a Half Full Game Store
If the problem is big enough to justify that solution I would just turn off legend rule in limited like the max number of copies of card in deck is turned off.
Sure I’ll just take your word for it on the 2x + 2 = 100 step I guess
Where is that tiny laughing sound coming from??
“I actually need to be able to make the game about me for 2U.” -one of the keys to a social casual format apparently.
Ya plus the more counterintuitive and edge-case-creating the rules are, the more distance there is between your intent and your ability to even spot that you’re messing it up. I may have been 15 years old and unaware of how many mistakes we were making.
Didn’t intentionally ignore any rules but also was not at 100% adherence.
What could be more normal than an opponent casting Unbury targeting two Gloom Ripper?
Could be both, but I don’t know how you can defend the format. So many drafts you can tell you’re in the correct lane but the cards don’t come. And power of the best cards vs replacement cards is insanely high. And like if you’re elves and open red bomb you can’t even get creative.
