In my opinion, the biggest issue is the lack of name recognition for the other provincial leaders. At my school, where staff are university educated and overwhelmingly left-leaning, most staff would be hard pressed to name a party leader other than Ford.

Honestly, if you don’t think it’s safe for bus drivers and kids to be on the roads, why do you think it’s safe for your employees to do so? Most of our kids are going to stay home because of the weather, so why ask us to take this risk?

Expedited sidewalk clearing and curb clearing in front of schools is essential. We have buses and cars who drop students in front of our school and kids are then expected to navigate 2 or 3 foot high snow banks to exit vehicles. It’s extremely unsafe, and completely avoidable.

I love using these resources in my class, my only complaint is they don’t produce enough! I would’ve loved a video explaining the recent floor crossings in kid friendly language, or an article about why some people in Alberta want to separate.

Thank you for making this call early so that teachers can stop worrying and wondering, and parents can make arrangements for childcare or call employers to arrange time off. I’m sure caretakers are happy to have additional time to get schoolyards safe and ready for children.

The Board has done a much better job in recent years of considering staff and student welfare on days like this. We only had two snow days in my first 20 years of teaching. I can remember many long, stressful drives to work over the years, all to “teach” the four kids in my class who showed up.

All TDSB schools and sites, including child care centres, are closed today due to the weather forecast.

I’m an elementary school teacher, so Lexend would be my font of choice. It was designed for ease of readability, particularly for people with dyslexia.

@support.bsky.team I tried using the feedback form, but the dropdown menus and the submit button remained greyed out.

Every time I open a video, there’s no way to exit the video to return to my feed. I’m forced to close the app and reopen the app, which means I lose my place.

Possible solutions?

Of course! I had a professor that used to conduct seminars at the Grad Club so we could have a pint while we worked!

These have changed my life as someone who makes my own stock! I have multiple sizes that I use for different purposes. I also just bought the Trudeau brand ones from Costco to try out, and so far so good. Only $59.99 CDN for a set of 5.

Hopefully provinces are working hard to capitalize on the interest young women already have in moving to Canada… We need more teachers, nurses, and family doctors, and I’m sure there are significant opportunities in many more fields of employment.

I think your memory might be faulty. I was a “picky eater” in the ‘70s and ‘80s, forced to sit at the dinner table looking at a plate of unpalatable food until bedtime (and all the next day). Neither spankings nor hunger changed my mind, and at 50, I still avoid the foods I refused to eat then.

As a teacher, you might like the book “Orange for the Sunsets”, which takes place in Uganda in during the expulsion. I read it aloud to my Grade 4s and 5s every year, but your students could read it independently.

This seems like an intentional act by this family to try to provoke a response from the school board so that they can take it to court and try to get anti-discrimination laws changed, similar to about Kristen Waggoner and the ADF do in the States.

One of my favourite Queen’s/Kingston memories was having a few with friends and belting out drinking songs at the Welly! Thanks for sharing.

The fact that Sovereignty won the 151st running of the Derby when Trump is threatening to make us the 51st state has a lovely symmetry to it, doesn’t it?
