not to be a doomer but Apple’s modern-day OSes do more and more feel to be lacking in basic quality and stability — particularly iOS. my experience is quickly becoming a daily death by a thousand cuts
very nicely done youtu.be/otQa0RaC-Vc?...
also I think if there were targets I could see being reused elsewhere maybe I would separate them into separate package(s) — I kind of treat this singular package as an app’s main, ‘private’ package
main downside is that if you have lots of targets your Package.swift can get pretty big, and navigating around target definitions isn’t the easiest. wish there was better integrations for this
I used to prefer multiple packages but now go for a single package: there’s only one Package.swift to maintain and all target sources are in sibling directories
pretty sure like half of my old Objective-C layout code was also just calls to NSMidX() and NSMidY()
When Big American tech does it, they argue gobbling gigabytes of proprietary data is “fair use”, when someone else does it “against the terms of service”.

i wish ebooks had more character. every time i try to read one i yearn for the unique qualities of physical books: the choice of paper, the font, the typesetting. what’s stopping us from doing this?
the frustrating thing is that even when the adjustments come often they’re targeted to the latest SDK releases, which means you can’t really use them for a couple more years
social media is the last greyhound bus of the night from Las Vegas back to Los Angeles
I remember reading a while ago that the times you eat are a big driver of your circadian rhythm, so eating meals in the new time zone is one of the best ways to get over jet lag
bringing my Leopold keyboard with cherry blues everywhere I go like Tom Ripley lugging his typewriter across 1960s Italy

love it when your photos come out looking like movie stills 👌
“The imperfect, handmade character of websites has been sanded away in favor of efficiency, and social media platforms have risen in the stead of amateur sites”
also love some of the suggestions in this post about making websites more personal and unconventional

severance is one of the only shows I’ve watched where I didn’t skip the title sequence each episode. such a good one 👌🏼

late to the party but I didn’t realise that Apple Intelligence uses HDR to boost brightness and vibrancy in some of the new UI elements. very, very nice
funny today’s uses GameplayKit after your talk last night 👌🏼
iOS App Attestation (DeviceCheck) is so cool. So many possibilities!
Not bullet proof but definitely a great tool for the tool belt.
Do you know about the take function for the Optional type? It takes the value if it is not nil and toggles the variable to nil.
