Happens to me as well, it’s hell. White ppl think I’m too pale to have Egyptian heritage but when I’m at a Lebanese restaurant & I mention it, they’re like yes! You look like my cousin. Then I remember the time a woman grabbed my face bc my nose didn’t match my surname (I used my Irish dad’s then) 😠
