School psychology continues to be a largely white field, despite strides made toward racial representation and equity. Dr. Malone's thoughtful and critical work honors the historical and present experiences of SPs of color and helps us imagine ways to move forward.

Thank you! 🙏🏾
Thanks for engaging with it! It's been both fascinating and frustrating seeing the same patterns over and over. Hopefully, this project will help school psychology recognize and learn from its mistakes.

In this essay, I explain why school psychology needs to focus on honoring POC's full humanity, highlight the role of critical histories for antiracism, and share two stories about Black SP leaders.

I started a Substack to share what I'm learning as I explore school psychology archives, interview school psychologists of color, and navigate the profession as a Black woman.

I saved my document just in the nick of time! My power went out a minute after 😬 These summer thunderstorms are serious!
I receive this! This is a culmination of decades of hard work & advocacy. I’m proud to be part of this movement & to have been in spaces where I could elevate Dr. Miranda’s name & others who’ve gone unrecognized. I hope my actions inspire others to build community & imagine radical change.
I think a lot of other attendees feel the same way. You never know how much you need something until you finally get it.
It's amazing how much can change in a short time. This NASP was the opposite of my first one in 2010. The sessions we did would have never been accepted. But look at us now! 🙌🏾
There was so much #BlackGirlMagic at #NASP2025! It was truly a beautiful sight to behold.

Kicking off my #NASP2025 experience with my distinguished lecture! I'm always grateful for the opportunity to educate my colleagues, help develop their critical consciousness, & promote social justice in the profession. Thank you @drfaustino.bsky.social for this opportunity!
I hope you're able to. It really is a great experience, especially socializing with other school psychs.
Thanks much for your kind words! They are much appreciated❤️ Will you be at NASP next week?
One of my favorite quotes from this episode! What resistance strategies can we learn from those who've survived oppression? We should be listening to them and taking their lead.
Thanks for the tag!
Used the world's biggest stage to put on a Blackity Black show. Gotta love it!
That half time show was EVERYTHING I needed!
☠️ at liable to sue!! 😂😂
On my episode, I shared how my Harlem upbringing & Caribbean roots gave me multiple models of Black excellence and influenced my leadership in school psych. It's worth a listen: www.podbean.com/ew/pb-mcwj5-...
Thanks, Ben, for amplifying my story & those of other Black professionals on your podcast
Happy Black History Month!! ✊🏾
We have to be BLACK AF starting today! No excuses!
Get the dashiki! Find the shirt with the Black Power fist on it! Collect those Malcolm X quotes so you can recite them anytime a white woman tries you!

One of my colleagues is recruiting participants for her dissertation. She’s interested in the experiences of Black women who work at historically white institutions who are not faculty and are not in DEI positions but are engaged in DEI initiatives. DM me if interested!!!

These are great recommendations for all educators and school professionals. I'll be sharing with my school psych grad students and other colleagues. We can all do our part to resist and protect vulnerable communities.
You really were focused! I don't think I knew much about psychology when I was in middle school.

If you went to college
1. what was your career goal when you started?
2. your initial major?
3. if you changed majors, what did you change to?
4. what do you do now, professionally?
1. Pediatric medicine
2. Human biology
3. Psychology
4. School psychologist / University professor
It will be easy to fall into a pattern of dunking & reacting in these times. Performing disapproval can be a consuming pastime & it is not enough. Refuse to abandon vulnerable people. Build a rebellious culture of care. If you need help, @prisonculture.bsky.social and I wrote a book to assist you.
