Totall get that frustration! For me as ESOL who had to learn ‘proper English’ while learning the language, and had to have extensive vocabulary training the way native speakers usually don’t, it’s another layer of sounding like a robot now lol.

We have been telling stories since before we ever even had writing! I firmly believe that every story is worth telling.

(and just because this is on public internet and posts break containment randomly, I obv. don’t mean some awful, rancid stuff that shouldn’t even be thought, let alone told)

Right?! And I use many words that are apparently common in AI, which again, yes, because it was trained on actual writing of actual humans but now it’s like… I don’t even know. It’s just odd. The whole concept of an LLM/AI is odd to me, of an almost human intelligence but not quite. It’s uncanny.

I write in English a lot, which is not my first language, and then I’m also ND so that’s a recipe for a disaster. And knowing I sound like AI is just… 🙃

Damn, I use at least half of these. No wonder I’m constantly flagged as AI in my writing.

I try to tell myself that this is because AI has learned from humans, not the other way around. But it *is* difficult to come to terms with.
