Yesterday, my phone battery finally gave up the ghost and I was forced to be in the absolute Zen of the moment for the entire day and it was delightful!!
The one that stuck with me was Hemingway’s advice to himself in his memoir A Moveable Feast: All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence you know.
For me was in Minnesota, waiting for a bus (cue Violent Femmes), -30F with -60F windchill. It was difficult to breathe and I felt my eyes starting to freeze in my head.
As much as I love it, it makes it difficult to stay year round.
My Uber driver was a retired marine, an elderly seemingly chap and friendly enough.
On our short little time together we compared notes with the coldest temperatures we had ever experienced.
For him, it was Anchorage, Alaska and -44F with 80F winds in a thirteen person tent.

My younger brother reached out to me this morning asking me about the "Church School" that we used to attend.
He was surprised that it was a cult. He said he knew it was 'Weird", but it didn't seem weird in a cult sense.
He is four years younger than me, and was really a kid during that time.
