I'm keeping the characters I like, the theme that drew me to it, and now I'm going to push it because I know I can.

I had been working on a pilot that I knew something was wrong about. I thought it was first draft jitters. Today, it finally clicked-- my first draft can be bad, but I, at least, shouldn't be bored by it.

Just wanted to say what a privilege it was to write in the @nycmidnight.bsky.social #screenwritingchallenge this year. I really struggled, but it made me remember what it feels like to challenge myself.

1. I had to stop talking to my sister a few years ago. She was so angry about stuff from our childhood, the ways our parents abandoned us. I want to understand why she can't move forward, and why I'm lucky enough to be able to.
