The CIA 100% had a hand in dismissal of Australian prime minister Gough Whitlam in 1975.

Dude was far too left wing for there tastes.

The study found that the frogs from the book Tuesday, used in the standard autism assessment, appear to autistic people in their final moments. In these visions, they seemingly explain the story, allowing autistics to pass to the other side finally at peace.

today: move dryer to hall, move washer to balcony, discover that floor under washer was FILTHY. then i figured it was probably better to clean the whole laundry than to just clean the bit where the washer was. it WAS better but also i am exhausted.

i spent a long time today cleaning my laundry room and I am fucking wiped.

last week: we order a new washing machine eta 1st week of may.
friday: current washing machine cacks it.
sat: attempt to fix machine. fail. calculate that laundromat cheaper than repair.

I read the whole thing. My mother's family over the last 100 years has been subject to a lot of citizenship fuckery much like this Kuwaiti stuff. Ugh.

i don't have the version of the chromecast that comes with its own remote because who needs that, we have phones. my Mum has the remote version, it's not bad.

"network" it's just the TV and our laptops and phones. streaming on the TV using only a remote for navigation is _torture_; using your phone to navigate it is much better.

could also do this at my midweek client except it would be a very different audience ...

come to think of it, i should check our Chromecast/Google Home network at my actual home, what if someone could do this to us? I think past me would have set it up to not let that happen but who knows

snipped screenshot of an audio player output menu. audio is playing from the device speakers. network devices available are: android TV, bedroom speaker, and two other speakers I've censored in grey because they have people's names in them. the implication is that I could play ANYTHING on ANYONE's speaker.

Hello this is horrible. This is horrible and cruel and pointless. These are not savings that are going to somehow benefit Canadians. Firing prison librarians and defunding an entire library and cutting Library & Archives is not actually a good thing.

Same in Australia and Aotearoa/NZ, and also for Catholic schools in all of the above.

The irony of the Campsie bypass is that it's not even faster due to volume!

Doesn't help that the SW1 and SW3 are adding to the volume on Beamish St either

"our menu rotates! check our Insta for the latest flavours!"
Insta: does not contain even an image of a list of the latest flavours. just some videos from a couple weeks back.

i spend a lot of time making and editing and fiddling about with PDFs and it baffles and infuriates me when people do them badly. and then, their bad PDF puts me off eating their food, so it's a lose-lose situation for both of us!

also small places (i'm thinking a lot of Cool places, like gelato shops, bakeries) will put their menu "on Instagram" and then you go to their Insta and it ISN'T. Also, that's behind a login wall! Rrrrrrgh.

please just tell me if i can eat your food.

I get really cranky when the menu is a non-searchable (therefore non-screenreader-able) PDF because _come on_

it's so lazy! If you make a PDF with text in it, by nature it should be searchable etc. What are they DOING?! How aren't they readable?

also it's bad for their SEO!

Man idk how to express how demoralizing it is to see people doing joke support for the Pope as the Catholic Church implements the most draconian trans healthcare ban anywhere in the US. It's a FULL ADULT TRANS HEALTHCARE BAN!!!THEY KEEP BUYING MORE HOSPITALS!!!!!!!

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Bush Mint – Mentha satureioides – IndigiGrow

ooooh:

bush mint, Mentha satureiodes, doesn't seem to GAF what soil or shadiness you put it in, also it's bush tucker!

indigigrow.com.au/product/bush...

it looks like i should just grow native mint. River mint (M. australis) and wild mint (M. diemenica) are both happy with wet feet.

I'm thinking Pratia for the replacement if I can find it cheap or if someone will give me cuttings. It's cute! www.australianplantsonline.com.au/pratia-blue-...

Otherwise more native violet which is already in there anyway but I need a LOT more of plants to fight the Commelina.

Update: turns out there's different species of Commelina, some native (C. cyanea, C. lanceolata, C. diffusa) and some not (C. benghalensis). Argh. Mind you, a weed is a plant where you don't want it so regardless of the C. species, its still a weed.

Argh! www.lfwseq.org.au/native-vs-we...

Fucking concert band. Especially competition test pieces. Let's do 5 time sigs in like one minute or some shit.

Here's the trick: ignore the signatures. Get a recording, listen to how it's meant to sound. Then just play notes and rhythm as written. Time signatures are a scam!

I learned bass clef first for playing timpani then treble glockenspiel and xylophone, later also for singing and let me tell you, it was a head trip

What's worse was finding out that the same pitches are on both in different places!

No. Actually. Rapid changing time sigs is the worst.

Hmph. It being a native doesn't mean it's NOT taking over the joint.

That said, there's not much point taking it out without something to put in there in place of it ...

I need to research appropriate plants.

Dude where's your alt text? It would be the easiest kind of alt-text, just copy and paste and add a title saying they're Pope Leo's tweets. @alt-text.bsky.social

I'm very good at becoming dehydrated just generally and also when Unwell. I think this March was? The fourth time? I've been hospitalised for it?

Nope! The FIFTH TIME! I'm so good at this.
