I caught up with Matt Klein, one of the famed developers behind the Envoy Proxy, and had a chat about AI and why the hype machine has gone too far. I think the industry is putting machines over people and the tradeoff leans too far in the rent seeker's favor.

Pretty incredible changes to how we manage the data and decision making in this field. Gives me hope that we continue to push towards solutions to problems that have been elusive for so many years

I guess I’m not a Jira hater, never have been. Nothing more beautiful than a laid out milestone ready to go. I understand the hate when tickets look more like forms than a human description of what needs to be done, though.

The new atlassian home experience, along with projects and goals. Pretty prime. Finally we have proper landing pages for epics and can distribute updates without using a different tool.

I've chosen to avoid this wave of AI altogether. I'm not interested in becoming one with the machine. If they are willing to spend time and money training artificial intelligence, why wouldn't I do the same for the real thing.
