He's been doing this kind of shit for awhile, sadly. He attacked anyone who suggested that The Last Of Us 2 was overly long, and partnered with a company to shill NFTs while again going after anyone who criticised him for doing so.

Undoubtedly a great actor, but seemingly very thin-skinned.

It's been two weeks and I'm still not over the Clair Obscur concert.

No screens showing gameplay, no gimmicks, just 10/10 music performed with the kind of kinetic showmanship that you usually get at a gig, not from a seated orchestra.

Hands down the best gaming music event that I've attended.

Any illustrators out there - preferably with experience of magazine cover art? I have some potential paid work for Film Stories over then next couple of weeks or so. #journorequest

You did expectedly brilliantly on Sky, well done mate, truly a great ambassador for our industry.

(also, I really liked having a VGIM to read on a Sunday! Definitely beckons to you from an empty weekend inbox)

Shout out to @thequiffisdead.bsky.social for swatting a phone out of a guy's hand that was blocking the subtitles. Truly a cinematic hero - the IMAX Avenger.

You need to watch the best cyberpunk anime movie ever for free online ASAP 31 years after its limited U.S. release on Christmas day, this cautionary tale of a dying planet has never felt more poignant.

Last time I saw Akira was also at the cinema, on a tiny East London screen a tenth of the size, in-between 2020 lock downs with @dompepin.bsky.social

It was just a few months after going Freelance, and inspired this feature that I'd somehow completely memoryholed. www.inverse.com/entertainmen...

Went to see Akira at IMAX last night, and despite being my sixth watch, it was like witnessing it again for the first time - what a phenomenal film.

Previously, on fire red screen

Previously, on fire red screen

The feature that recaps your last in-game actions in Fire Red is still an absolute godsend for reminding you whatever the hell it was you were doing when you last played.

Really surprised how few games have stolen this feature 20 years later. It should really be the standard bearer for all RPGs.

A stone is roughly 2/3rds of a Freedom, 1/8th of an Eagle - hope that helps.

A predictably great article by Mr Monbiot.

Much like with every other rancid aspect of Trump's rule, the only upside is that it's shown the protest vote crowd how bad populism can truly be

I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"

Really happy to see the variety in winners at this year's BAFTAs.

Clair Obscur is a brilliant game, but 2025 was full of other releases that also deserved their time in the spotlight.

Very happy to see Despelote and Kingdom Come 2 win, but pouring one out for my personal 2025 GOTY - Split Fiction.

Yeah, that's totally fair enough - there isn't really any reason that they can't promote both the presenters and the nominees leading up to the awards.

Hopefully feedback that they'll take on board for next year.

Apparently it's a traditional Catholic garb here dating back to the 19th century, but definitely not one that's aged well... Jarring as hell to see these little hooded figurines staring at you in every shop.

... I need a cerveza.

A fair point, but I assume it's just promoting the popular on stage talent in the run up to the show to bring viewers in, and then will do the same for the various winners and nominees during/post the show.

To be fair, the guy hasn't figured out how to bathe yet, understanding the calendar is probably a bit beyond him.

Pragmata review – soulful sad dad saga in stunning outer space Engineer Hugh is sent from Earth to investigate a malfunctioning research station and meets a young android who helps him fend off murderous mechs

www.theguardian.com/games/2026/a...

I had an absolute blast with Pragmata, my favourite game of 2026 so far.

Despite its sparkling near-future setting, Pragmata succeeds because it feels like a throwback to gaming’s recent past. It’s a beautifully-made, heartfelt single player adventure

Was proud to be part of London's biggest ever anti-racism march yesterday.

It's easy to feel apathetic and like we're all fighting a losing battle, but being surrounded by half a million people who feel just as disgusted by the far right as you do was hugely revitalising.

Never change, London ♥️

Really sorry to hear this, Cass. It was great working with you in L.A, and I have no doubt that another company would be very happy to have you. Hope you manage to find something swiftly

And execs wonder why Gen Z are moving away from console gaming....

Mate, they can barely afford a pint in this economy, let alone a £569 PS5.
