Today is my Birthday! As a disabled person, I will ALWAYS celebrate my birthday, because it is another year surviving in a system not built for me/us. See, I love an em dash, because it provides a visual pause for the reader, and because it is a way to get away with girthy sentences. 🤓 But AI uses it as a means to avoid declarative sentences, and hence, upsetting users.
This post clarifies a LOT of what irks me about ChatGPT and our evolving sense of language. ChatGPT loves "bland melodrama"—language like "it wasn't just x...it was y." On the one hand, this makes it easy to spot. But once you spot it, that s*** is everywhere. ugh.

Today was a good day. I am recovering well from a (minor but necessary) toe amputation. AND today is my 35th birthday. My last year of youth—according to Nielsen demographics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I am grateful for lovely peers, friends and colleagues. On to the next year, and more criptastic adventures. lol
I applied for student loan forgiveness in the summer of 2021. This morning I learned that my loans have been officially and completely discharged. To quote several friends, it is great to come into 2025 with significantly less debt over my head. Whatever else happens, today is a good day.
