Same here, I try to optimise for TTA (time to alien/zombie), as most people just want to get down to bussiness, in my games that's usually shooting an alien, a zombie or an alien zombie. After a long day, I totally get it 😆

IMO using AI while coding is incredible but I can't see AI sentiment improving, especially if/when the redundancies get going. I hope there is a future where A.I. can be built on attributed and compensated training data, and used for public benifit over concentrated mass profit, but the jury's out!
For me, even with VO, playtesters completely ignored my intro VO/text, even though I tried to keep it to 0% waffle, really tight dialog.
As soon as I added a Mocap'd 3D character delivering it, they are enraptured and actaully take in what is being said (as long as it's under 60 seconds).
I have a lot of remote white collar job buddies who have managed to pretty much automate their jobs from a full time to a 1-2 hours a day. Their employers (seemingly) don't know/care yet, but it's clear to see what is coming down the line, it's more a question when not if. Scary stuff.
It's OK, I'll just swap to Apple Vision Pro development; it's not VR, it's spatial computing... right... right?
Thank you, that is really helpful! I'd say £1,500 is definitely worth it, even just for peace of mind of someone else to check things over.
Sorry for the boring question: do you do your own accountancy? I'm thinking of taking the leap and doing it myself for a big expense saving, but having a once a year check over with a professional.
Beefy PC players love an Ultra setting
🚨PC VR player trigger warning🚨
My most common observation watching tester playback footage when they have a beefy PC: "Why no Ultra setting" 😅

I for one found the post perfectly cromulent
Full Steam Undead choo-choo-chooses to release after the Steam Frame sometime in 2026.
Details here: www.uploadvr.com/full-steam-u...
Picture showing the developer sillyness of picking 3 niches
Makes sense to me...

On track to release just after the Steam Frame, whenever that might be 🤷

Hi Tyrone, sorry, was off last week! Catching up on emails now 👍
PRE SHOOOOOOOOOW
Just as all great athletes do a warm up, all great VR enjoyers watch the pre-show.
You should watch the pre-show.
Overall Wishlist are on track.
Using all of my forecasting powers, FSU is not going to break even and may well be my last VR game for a bit, but I love VR so I'm just enjoying the road to release and seeing what happens.
Also if anyone can get me a Steam Frame, that would be swell...
Cheers!
Most people who wishlisted during #NextFest didn't play the demo! Maybe this is a VR thing as the barier to putting on a headset and playing is still too high?
I think VR #NextFest is still defo worth participation considering the small amount of VR demos relative to the entire event.
For predicting #NextFest wishlists, I used:
(existing Steam wishlists at start of NextFest) * 0.28
Suprisingly, this was very precise!
2,000 is split between the Meta Quest Store and Steam.
For older games I would get waaay more Quest wishlists, that has now flipped to a massively to Steam's advantage, it's not even close right now (4 to 1 territory).
The Meta store is changing right now, so hopefully things pick up here.
🎉2,000 Wishlists for Full Steam Undead🎉
Thanks everyone, every wishlist is a motivational boost keeping this train rolling.
GameDev wishlist thoughts/stats to follow for those interested...

What a shame, some great talent there, a rough year for big VR studios so far.
Thanks for playing! Feels so good to have it out there, NextFest is always just really good fun as a dev and it's a pretty good crop of demos this fest.
Just put out the first round of #NextFest demo updates for Full Steam Undead. It feels so good to have people playing and giving feedback, thanks players!
This happened to me yesturday, worked better than a strong coffee to wake me up.
My biggest gamedev discovery so far this #NextFest:
😡Low, Medium, High 📉
😀Normal, High, Ultra 📈
Yes I am changing it, but did consider "low, lower, lowest".
Agree, good thing about VR is your bound to get a couple of demo downloads! The amount of VR games in each NextFest seems pretty stable, I feel like ~30 is the usual for most, that 3000+ number blows my mind.
Check out Full Steam Undead:
Drive a flying steam engine around a Victorian zombie hell island, in VR!
#MadeWithUnity and the fantastic Unity XR Interaction Toolkit.

I'm seeing 3425 total demos in this Steam NextFest 😬
Good luck to all the devs out there!
Only around ~35 VR demos, don't know if that's good or bad to be honest.
Full Steam Undead is in Steam Next Fest with a wild VR demo from the 23rd Feb to the 2nd March!

Time to blow off some steam with the "Full Steam Undead" demo, now available on Steam:

I agree; It's great value, especially for new players, but I'm guessing it somewhat salts the earth of the store. Depending on the inclusion terms, I wonder these studios would earn more from the store if Horizon+ didn't exist, but given the current premium VR climate I can't blame any for joining!
