There was no thought to seek cover. No thought reach for another weapon. She just charged with her blade and made it her mission to shred the cover Sable was using, and Sable themself in a flurry of wild slashes and thrusts.

Her shields burst at the same moment her weapon scorched her hand and ceased firing. As the next few rounds dented and scratched her Jiralhanae-etched Mjolnir, Nyrmaues took the smoldering weapon and threw it full-force at Sable. In the same motion, she pushed herself off the wall and dashed —

fire.

A rapid barrage of crimson plasma illuminated the room. The trigger was pulled before Nyrmaeus was even steadied on her target, but it did not take long for her aim to snap to them. She seemed content with holding down the trigger until the weapon overheated.

Each shot had the traitor’s shields flare. By the time the kick struck and knocked her back, her HUD was alerting her of critical shield levels. Not that she really slowed down to take the defensive. As soon as her back struck the wall, Nyrmaeus drew a red plasma rifle from their hip and opened —

strategy. As she turned toward her target, she again made one wide swing with her blade — which was immediately followed by her stepping forward and swinging a closed fist toward her opponent. Hidden beneath the feral assault remained some level of reactive technique.

The first swing was a wild, wide arc as she stormed the room. She hit nothing but air and furniture. Despite the apparent thoughtless ferocity of her actions, she was still a Spartan. Nyrmaeus reacted to her shields flaring in an instant.

Her movements had more force behind them than calculated —

She would expect nothing less.

And suddenly, energy sword ignited, Nyrmaeus is bursting through the wall.

There will be violence.

She’s been off her smoothers for over a year, and she’s going to make it everybody else’s problem.
