From the movie Tombstone:
Wyatt Earp: What makes a man like Ringo, Doc? What makes him do the things he does?
Doc Holliday: A man like Ringo has got a great big hole, right in the middle of him. He can never kill enough, or steal enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.
Wyatt Earp: What does he need?
Doc Holliday: Revenge.
Wyatt Earp: For what?
Doc Holliday: Bein' born.

Obituaries shed light on wave of dead scientists as White House probes Obituaries are offering rare, concrete detail about who the researchers were—and how abruptly their lives ended.

I read this last night when someone mentioned it to me.
It's pretty crazy, tbh -

Dude, it's not 1977.
NYC is one of the safest cities in the US.
Between 3 and 4 million people ride the subway every single day.

A Man and His Meat Boy kibble went viral. Here, John Paul Brammer explains why you'll have to pry his dry, loose meat from his cold, dead hands.

In my latest for Playboy, I wrote about meat, masculinity, and "boy kibble," the trend of men eating a pack of unseasoned ground beef for dinner. I argue it's the perfect meal to illustrate the isolation and nihilism in our ultra-capitalist system www.playboy.com/read/lifesty...

I laughed for 5 minutes straight -

“I like to wolf down my boy kibble after a heavy lifting session, sitting at my Wayfair dining table by the wan light of my laptop screen, eating alone, watching someone else play video games. “

Funny, in this house, that's reversed - my wife makes that when I'm not home. :)
I have a feeling we have similar stuff in the fridge.

I'm going to show this to anyone that asks me why I use the Cynch propane delivery service rather than picking them up myself.
I actually did have a tank with a slow leak one time, but didn't know it till I went to hook it up to my grill and realized it was empty. They replaced it for free.

Yea, I saw a headline about him and while I admit that it was in fact a sentence, none of it make a lick of sense to me. And I'm ok with that.

Yep.
If someone flipped a magic switch tonight and shut off every chat bot, etc.. within a day everyone would just shrug and get on with their lives. Some nutters would probably be like "now where am I going to upload my sensitive data so the plagiarism machine can look at it"? Whatever.

We absolutely should be doing this. Same with putting solar on the roof of every warehouse, every DATA CENTER, etc.. In fact, I would say that this should be done either before or in parallel with build-outs of large solar arrays in the desert, etc. Put the PVs where people are and into the grid.

We stopped well over a year ago. Yes, it's not AS convenient.
But pretty much everything that I would have normally bought on the regular because of convenience, I can buy online either direct from said vendor, at Costco, or from another online retailer. And Prime shows - I can pirate via torrent.

Pufnstuf‘s psychedelic sets and costumes were a big hit with college kids, and The Beatles asked for a full set of episode tapes to be sent to them in England. The look of the show prompted many whispers that the brothers took drugs (pot for sure, maybe LSD as well?), something Marty denied.

“You can’t do a show stoned,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in January 2016 during a visit to explore the Krofft archives.

I don't know if I'd take that bet:

One of my all time favorite restaurant reviews - no paywall link from the NYTimes:

"When you hung that sign by the entrance that says, WELCOME TO FLAVOR TOWN!, were you just messing with our heads?"

Flowers Bloom on Soldiers' Graves: Lessons in Power and Consequence What is power? It is at its most essential the ability to influence an outcome on any or all scales, to protect one's own at a minimum and to influence, even control others at a maximum. Violence is c...

I think my 90th essay at my newsletter is one of my best there. A meditation on cooperative power versus violence, with detours on Iran/Vance/Orban/Swalwell, and a zen ending, literally.

Also not a huge fan of tripa, BUT yesterday one of the birria tacos I had they added chicharron and crispy tripa. It was really good.
And they had horchata with a little bit of strawberry added, that was awesome!

Right.
I had birria tacos yesterday. Not “whatever makes sense” tacos. :)
