as someone who gave up on basketball partially because i'm short and when i'm in proper guard position i kept getting elbowed in the face by taller people accidentally and getting hurt+them fouled, that is appealing.

You could try a ninja class/team, the ones that do ninja warrior style parkour+gymnastics. They're pretty good at teaching how not to break your neck, and have tons of padding for kids or adults to land on....
