It Is deeply troubling that one of the US President’s first actions upon taking office was to deny the existence of marginalised people, and attempt to curtail their rights. To suggest that a group of people don’t have the right to exist has alarming historical parallels.

This Executive Order will leave a vulnerable group of people open to further harassment, discrimination, and abuse in daily life. It comes as the new US administration announced a roll back of federal diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes, actively abandoning principles of workplace inclusion. There are many urgent global challenges from violent conflicts to climate change and yet the new US Government is seemingly more focused on an agenda that will spread hate and fear.

Hard won rights must be continually defended. We will continue to work with our US partners to advocate for and support LGBTQ+ people concerned by the rhetoric and actions of the new administration.

This is why we need to start reclaiming Pride as a protest, not a big party funded by companies and multinationals whose pinkwashing and ‘allyship’ has always been transitory and conditional. Big fights lie ahead and, as a community, we need to get back to our roots of protest and activism.

I can’t get over how cartoonishly evil this is

putting in your fucking “hate speech” policy that a particular kind of hate speech against a particular group of people is explicitly allowed - and therefore encouraged - is the kind of shit that should be done from a volcano lair with a shark moat

The image is from a "Transparency Center" document and lists guidelines regarding acceptable and prohibited content for insults. It mentions:

1. Insults about:

Character, such as cowardice, dishonesty, criminality, and sexual promiscuity or immorality.

Mental characteristics, including but not limited to accusations of stupidity, intellectual capacity, and mental illness, as well as unsupported comparisons among politically correct (PC) groups based on inherent intellectual traits.

2. Highlighted section:

The document allows allegations of mental illness or abnormality when tied to gender or sexual orientation, referencing political and religious discourse about transgenderism and homosexuality. It also acknowledges the non-serious use of terms like "weird."

Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

Mum thought I was just being an awkward child, I’d eaten fish fingers a gazillion times before, so she didn’t let me leave the table until I’d eaten them. I sobbed and sobbed but eventually ate it, terrified that it was poisoned. I’ve never eaten fish again! Even the thought of it makes me ill 🤢

We were learning about river pollution in school and how this impacts on fish and ecosystems in the rivers, and that humans can eat the fish, etc. I was probably about 6 or 7 years old.

That evening, mum made fish fingers for tea. I was too terrified to eat it, I was convinced the fish was polluted

Oh no! Sorry to hear this. Glad you’re ok and insurance can cover. It’s so dangerous being out on the roads in this weather but some people can’t avoid being out for work, etc. Luckily I was WFH today but will need to brave the roads tomorrow. 😬

I wouldn’t worry too much about body horror. It’s not very scary, just a few WTAF moments that will have you more laughing in disbelief than covering your eyes in disgust. It’s a brilliant film and well worth giving it a watch.

New French guidelines show doctors overwhelmingly support gender-affirming care - LGBTQ Nation The medical guidelines contradict numerous conclusions from the UK's infamous Cass Review.

After extensive review, France has established very positive gender affirming care guidelines, and they’ve rejected the highly politicized Cass Report as simply false.

We are writing on behalf of Equality Amplified, an organisation dedicated to promoting inclusivity and equality for the LGBTQ+ community. We have recently discovered that Helen Joyce is listed under the LGBTQ+ category for the upcoming Oxford Literary Festival. We are deeply concerned about this categorisation.

Helen Joyce, an author and activist known for her controversial views, has been widely criticised for her harmful rhetoric regarding transgender people. Her language and stance on trans inclusion have been damaging to the LGBTQ+ community. For instance, she has made statements that many perceive as insulting, including referring to the transition of gender as a “huge problem” and suggesting that the number of people transitioning should be “reduced.” These views contribute to a harmful narrative that undermines the dignity and rights of transgender individuals.

It is important to clarify that Helen Joyce’s perspectives, while part of a public debate, do not reflect the values of the LGBTQ+ community. Associating her with LGBTQ+ spaces is tone-deaf and risks alienating and insulting many who seek safe, supportive environments.

We also want to highlight that Joyce is not an expert on gender or trans-related matters. Her background in mathematics and journalism does not qualify her to speak authoritatively on such complex issues.

We respectfully request that you reconsider her listing under the LGBTQ+ category at the Oxford Literary Festival. While Joyce has the right to express her opinions, we believe that her inclusion in this context misrepresents the LGBTQ+ community and detracts from its values of inclusion and respect.

JK Rowling: There are no trans kids. No child is 'born in the wrong body'. There are only adults like you, prepared to sacrifice the health of minors to bolster your belief in an ideology that will end up wreaking more harm than lobotomies and false memory syndrome combined.

They used to say there was no such thing as gay kids. That it was a choice that could be beaten or tortured out of them through conversion therapy
