I have a father and mother in law in Iran. I have a sister in law. A niece. She's 14. She likes silly pink headbands and purses and dresses, just like kids her age all over the world. There are 93 million people like her in Iran. People who do all the normal mundane life things as the rest of us.
Mamdani is not just filling the potholes with the crew. He's creating a visual and personal reminder of the dignity inherent in all of these anonymous government jobs.
I knew Two Boots was going to be a great character when I heard Richard Ayoade’s voice. Maul: Shadow Lord is great so far and the city scenes are fantastic.
Yeah it’s kind of annoying they decided to do that when they have real images at thier disposal.

I missed this, but this is super cool news... washingtonstatestandard.com/2026/03/05/w... "Washington State's cap-and-trade program could soon link with carbon markets in California and Quebec, a move that agency officials say would decrease and stabilize decarbonization costs."
Where there are parking lots next to transit, there is potential! Excited to see this comprehensive Transit Oriented Development strategy launch for the Baltimore Region. We have some great assets in the existing Metro and Light Rail that can be maximized with TOD increasing access and ridership.
The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a legal challenge to an Illinois law barring concealed carry permit holders from carrying loaded guns on public transportation, leaving intact the state’s 2013 prohibition on firearms aboard buses and trains. (gift link) www.chicagotribune.com/2026/04/06/s...
Thanks, @rmartincole.bsky.social, for showing us items from the Northwestern University Transportation Library, including the famous "Transporting Watermelons in Bulk and Bins by Truck" report from USDA. Just one of many fascinating pieces. What a treat to get to see everything in person!
People should actually be very alarmed that while AP's business model is shot to bits, Americans are still very much reliant on the news it delivers. The alternatives in some cases are inferior or non-existent.

Interesting to see how cities have / have not evolved their COVID-era slow/open street programs. Here is a snapshot of the toolkit along San Francisco’s Shotwell Street.
Absolutely incredible Nutella ad.
IIJA pushed up capital funding for transit projects to $3B+ if my memory serves. All of this downgrade is for war and instead of in the past where we hinted at it, it’s a pretty explicit trade now.
The Federal Transit Administration released its annual report on new transit projects to fund.
The report recommends a total of just $1.2 b for existing & new projects, a massive reduction from previous years. The federal role in funding new transit projects is being decimated.

Somehow managed to pick up produce, bread, meat, and cheese at Pike Place Market without driving my car through the middle of it. Ask me anything
I know, but it’s just insane to me, and not really targeted at Seattle, that we can’t figure out a way to do it better and faster.
How do you get $34b in the hole anyway? This seems like a racket and should be the cost for a full subway network. Someone should take a deep dive into the cost centers.
We live on the best spaceship in the universe.

Let’s lower the rent! As mayor, I will triple housing production by cutting red tape, lowering costs, and eliminating pointless bureaucracy.

Rooftop solar has come out of nowhere and is now 20% of Puerto Rico's energy generation mix -- more than natural gas.
Thanks for coming in!
Always a pleasure to talk with Jeff @theoverheadwire.com! (Less a pleasure to hear my own voice recorded.) Thanks for having me on to highlight the threat to civil rights protections in transportation. Watch this space for updates on the pending US DOT rescission of Title VI regulations.
