This infuriating attitude shows up on the bookshelves in learning environments, too. We expect girls to empathize with boys, but we kneecap every opportunity to let boys empathize with girls. And look where we are.

It’s time once again for “you do not need to share the horrors in order to communicate that they are horrible. You do not need to imbibe the horrors to bear witness to them. Be kind to yourself and others right now.”

Now I’m just a backwoods small town hyperchicken, but it seems to me that if a company is big enough to existentially threaten the government then you don’t actually have a functioning government anymore.

Nothing but love for the trans people in my family, in my life, and out there in the world. The future will look back on this era in horror, but unfortunately we don’t live in the future. I encourage every cis person I know to speak up, say “not in my name”, to fight for the lives of our loved ones

School book banning escalates in the UK as Greater Manchester secondary school censors scores of books - Index on Censorship A school librarian faced a disciplinary hearing and scores of books were removed from her school library after she stocked Laura Bates’ Men Who Hate Women

This is utterly jaw-dropping.

A school that bans Atwood, Zadie Smith, Terry effing Pratchett and *literal George Orwell* is actively harming its pupils.

Left this in a comment on @comicbookyeti.com’s thread, but it bears its own post.
Others have addressed this, but the dissonance between “never fully remove the human from the workflow” & AI being ok for “coloring assistance, idea exploration, background generation, effects, animation” is HUGE.
