Am I the only one to go into hibernation mode in January? I fell like everyone is working out and eating healthy and I’m under a duvet snacking leftover Christmas chocolate.

micro:bit and AI Dive deeper into micro:bit CreateAI

The Micro:bit Educational Foundation just launched micro:bit #CreateAI 🎉! microbit.org/ai/. I love it for playful, physical & creative learning about ML. Use movement data to train/test a model, then use that model in #MakeCode to make an AI thing! Mad excited to see what people make! #microbit

Solving a Queens puzzle by applying one rule at a time through pattern matching

The logic of Queens
Queens is a simple logic puzzle LinkedIn uses to draw you back daily. Doing daily puzzles is good both for mental health and to build logical thinking skills. Its mainly about pattern matching skills rather than logic though!

I'm going to try and champion a few of my favourite #MakeCode for #microbit blocks that don't seem to get as much love as (I think 😅) they deserve! Hopefully others doing #computing in #TeamCompSci will have their own #faveblocks

#PhD thoughts...If we have great pedagogical practices ( long standing with solid evidence) and tech adopts these practices and uses #teachers to provide the backbone of these practices and integrates them into a technology.

Is the tech working or the teaching practice ?

Today I submitted my masters dissertation of original research into students beliefs about computing education with generative AI.

I thought I’d feel relieved that it was complete but I feel really anxious like a child has left home. Is this normal?

A key insight was: “Cohort-based analysis is a more informative way to gauge the extent to which each group is entering a field, independent of larger demographic shifts in the student population.” Does this resonate in secondary school do we think?
