Now we’re getting to the ghosts and sticking to some classic horror tropes. First death is a doozie and I now recall, one of the things that made me really get interested in practical effects. So much work goes into these things.

This will reading scene is straight out of scooby doo in the way they’re setting up the story and watching it now with the context of so many other shows and movies have come since, it seems a lot more layered than I remember and I hope they explore that in the show.

Starting the rewatch: opening scene was wild and I remember very little of it. Effects are of the time and it felt like there was some important exposition that might come into play in the show.
The character building in the first scene with the family is really well done.

This is why I love rewatches. Gotta pull out my old hard drive so I can go back on this adventure.
