Thanks! I often forget about it so don’t get your hopes up too high 😜
Also made these bookmarks for favors. Watercolor and linocut - so fun.
I threw a “Second Breakfast” themed baby shower today. Thrilled with how the banner came out.
Holy Moly 9 years since I took a giant leap and literally changed my life. Never thought I’d live in Los Angeles much less everything else that’s happened since. Thanks for the inexplicably cool and fun job, Dave!
As a proud owner of a jackalope tattoo, I was thrilled to the gills to color this guy.
I say this just about every day to Dave…I freaking love this book. We’re having so much fun.

Slowwy - this one eyed, three legged dog was so beloved, and I loved doing this one! My husband took the kid to swim lessons so I could have a few uninterrupted hours, and I think the sprint made me loosen up! Really like how it turned out!
The Huion 22 I have does!
My good pal @singingpigs.online commissioned a portrait of his wife and baby and it turned in to a modern Pietà?! I love it. They’re so beautiful.
Hahaha thank youuu thank youuu
This week I finished not one, but TWO (2!) portraits I had been putting off for 3 months. I deserve a g-d medal.
(But also apologies to the commissioners.)
God give me the confidence of a mediocre white man.
AND ALSO the energy of a 3 year old cuz good lord where does it all come from and why does it never dissipate?!
Hi, hello, I love my job. The next 6 months are going to be fuuuunnnnn
We’re back babyyyy. This book is adorable. I know because I’m making the files right now.
I drew this 10 years ago today. Always made me chuckle… who knew I’d marry a blonde dude and have a blonde toddler running around 10 years later? Certainly not me!
I am made of memory foam like a fillipod tho

That could probably apply to a lot of different creative pursuits, but it’s just something I’ve been mulling around in my head lately. Funny how the spiral of education slaps you in the face sometimes.
Why is my painting not working? Is the drawing (foundation of form) off? Am I struggling with the color? Am I not strong enough in my selected medium yet? I’m not a bad painter and it’s not a bad painting, I’m just off-balance in one of the many skills it requires.
Which seems silly since I’m nearly 40, have 7 years of art education, a masters degree, and have considered myself a professional artist for some time now. But splitting “painting” in to those three elements really would have changed my early education if someone had broken it down for me like that.
“To be a good painter you have to be good at three different disciplines: drawing, color, and paint.” I saw a reel the other day that was discussing this idea and I’ve been thinking a lot about it.
I painted her head 3 times because I was planning on getting this printed on canvas for my house and I didn’t want to stare at it constantly and regret not pushing for it to look how I wanted. Sometimes good enough is good enough…not this time!
This initial post feels like WAY more than 3 months ago… but the full painting is done!!
Ok not *only* used for children…but it is the first definition, and according to Martian-Webster, the other definitions are used for things or events…so either condescending or dehumanizing… take your pick.
I’m still fuming over an ad for the new Kathryn Bigelow movie that featured a review that called her a “prodigy”.
She’s 74 years old and has won an Oscar for directing. Maybe she’s honed her craft for her entire lifetime, and calling her a term only used for talented children is condescending?!
Right?!? She’s also obsessed with painting rocks right now.
My lil budding artist ☺️
(Also: the Huion Pro 22 is awesome)
Today is my 18th 21st birthday.
That….that can’t be right. There’s no way, I was just 27 last week!
