The $DHI print looked decent. There's finally light at the end of the tunnel for residential construction.

I was about to go to bed but now I have to pull up the Hawks game on YouTube TV on my phone.

GLP-1’s hadn’t even crossed my mind. But I guess we have pills for that now too.

Is this anti-vaccine or anti-steroids/HGH? Pretty chaotic energy.

“Trump vacillated, people close to him said, between considering economic worries in calls with advisers including Wright and Treasury Secretary Bessent, and insisting that he was going to keep the war going. He told advisers that they needed to watch the markets, and his words often moved them.”

Behind Trump’s Public Bravado on the War, He Grapples With His Own Fears The president’s impulsive style has never been tested in a sustained military conflict, and he’s been ruminating on Jimmy Carter’s failure in Iran.

Lots of leaks in this article, most of them making Trump look unsure and scared: www.wsj.com/politics/nat...

Perfect age for that is probably 5-6 year olds.

The residential construction downturn will finally end later this year. Healthcare jobs continue to grow. Anthropic is compute-constrained. It’s hard to see a reason why the unemployment rate will increase in a meaningful way on any kind of forecastable time horizon until/unless AI capex busts.

Maybe I’m the only one but I was more worried about a structural increase in joblessness somewhat related to AI in 2025 than I am in 2026.

A lot of people, myself included, have written about youth unemployment over the past year, so it’s worth pointing out that age 20-24 unemployment has plunged over the last 6 months:

Let’s be fair, Jordan had a very good career despite quitting for awhile and retiring young, definitely top-5 all-time.

@sellingtheta.bsky.social LeBron has won 29 playoff games over the age of 35, MJ won zero.

Laying the marker down now — there will never come a time when people with significant economic interests in Silicon Valley will say “AGI/ASI have been achieved, it’s time to tax tech companies and billionaires to fund UBI.”

2 days ago 186 17 6 2

I am very opposed to UBI.

Okay, they’d fight that too.

We were watching the game together last night and LeBron winning playoff games with a bunch of scrubs made me feel 26 again.

Tech billionaires saying UBI is coming is hilarious because c’mon, how have they acted the last 5 years in response to the prospect of higher taxes on the rich and corporations to fund social programs?

Semi-educated ignorant guess is OpenAI/Anthropic will pump usage metrics at all costs into their IPO’s but then 2027 will force some improvement in gross margins because that’s part of being a publicly-traded company and that’s where the rubber will meet the road.

I would say that the most difficult skill in this business is understanding that market prices deserve a great amount of respect, but not infinite respect, and knowing when and when not to be deferential is much of the art of portfolio management

I finally have a little time to sit down and watch a play-in game and it happens to be this one.
