I don't think so. Your gun options are so mid and limited in the first hour. The game gets a lot better once you have more guns and alt fires so I think the early game just is what it is.

This was an interesting review for me because you somehow made me a bit more interested in the genre as a whole while also scaring me off this one!

As a reviewer, I really care about giving every gane a true chance. I never want to go into a game and already have it judged. I feel like this can occasionally exist.

To be fair..mouse also has a baseball tactics card game that rules, so it might have fit in better than you'd anticipate. But I def get your point overall.

Criticizing MOUSE PI for not having actual detective elements is crazy because, as much as I wish this wasn't the case, most detective type games don't actually ask you to figure stuff out. Alan Wake's case board element was almost completely on the rails for example.

Yeah. Im usually not one to go particularly hard at a reviewer because a lot of people are absolutely obnoxious about it and also operating in bad faith.

I think its a useful explanation of genre conventions. But I also think its pretty useless as an actual review of the game. Almost every genre has been done plenty of times. There are many gameplay nuances that could have been examined within every genre (which he touches on and I agree with a lot)

The IGN review for MOUSE: PI is 11 paragraphs excluding the conclusion paragraph.

4 of those paragraphs are devoted to anything related to gameplay.
