So to be as i understood , you have linux mint 22 , lost your account password and the disk is encrypted.
1. reboot your computer and hit "e" when you see the grub menu.
2. go to the line that starts with linux en go to the end, remove quit and splash and type "init=/bin/bash" and hit "ctrl+x"

Did you allready do a new installation? I just run across your message and wanted to point out that you can droo to a root shell if you have physical access to the computer by hitting “e” while in grub (before boot) and then typ e rd.break ..
