your monthly reminder that even though Pope Leo the Hater is giving us a good time, nothing is more certain than that a Pope will be shitty and disappoint you. enjoy the memes but in this house we don't stan the patriarchy.

The third amendment (quartering of troops) combined with mandatory draft registration means the state can't prohibit abortion because it is quartering future troops in my womb

There are some ugly greens and some ugly yellows and browns and oranges, but there are no ugly blues.

This is not a reference to anything but the actual literal color on the color chart.

ProPublica has marketed themselves as the good guys doing trustworthy news. I even gave them the money I used to give WaPo before they flipped the breakers on democracy.

Make their actions align with their words. don't cross the picket line and demand they deliver what their advertising promises.

Therapy today was like, let my tell you my extremely unorthodox views on palm Sunday, good Friday and Easter, and also about the tv show killjoys, and how all of this relates to the trauma we're working on of my very bad scary breakup with my closest friend!

I write policy, I'm not even a creative writer, but only a fool would think ai could do my extremely non creative writing, because it requires thinking through all the possible scenarios and planning for all of them

Still giggling about the villain monologue in A.M. Kvita 's An Unlikely Coven going, yes you will die for this purpose but I promise to find a way to give you author credits for what I'm doing!

LGBTQ Foundation of Kansas The LGBTQ+ Foundation of Kansas is committed to helping LGBTQ+ people in Kansas find resources, discover community, and thrive in their identities.

My list, which is QTd in the first post in this thread, has orgs actually helping trans folk in my state. I keep hearing this from many folks here - especially often lgbtqks.org

Once again, direct mutual aid is most effective right now. People are organizing off social media as well.

My friend came over to do some #transrightsreadathon ing together and we spent basically the whole time with him reading terrible excepts from his book and us both giggling over them.

I've learned that uncut mats for framing from my local art store are cheap and perfect for protest signs: they're light, not flexible and big enough to work with

Diane duane's so you want to be Wizard really is not listed enough on these lists.

Yup. I love Ursula Le guin, she was foundational for me, built some of my most basic attitudes toward life, and I would still boycott in a (very sad) heartbeat if she'd ever.

No book is worth sacrificing alive human people's rights and safety to support it.

About the author text reads: Alexis Hall is the mortal pen name of a wandering fairy spirit cruelty exiled to the physical world for reasons that we're not at all his fault. He is slowly coming to terms with his predicaments and feels fortunate that he has found a way to monetize his contempt for humanity

Acknowledgements text reads: I acknowledge no debt to any immortal being save my Lord Oberon, ever kind, ever wise, and ever merciful. I acknowledge no debt to any mortal being whatsoever but I will grudgingly about that despite the shortcomings of their species my editor Emily archbold, my agent Courtney Miller-Vaughan, the sensitivity reader, Helen Gould and my assistant Mary are perhaps intermittently helpful on rare and specific matters

Gotta say Confounding Oaths by Alexis Hall really does its detail work on the dedication, acknowledgement and about the author, made me really happy

You still feel like a Hufflepuff or whatever? Great. That’s an inside thought. Outside thought is Protect Trans Kids, Adults, and their Loved Ones. IT’S NOT THAT HARD. If I can do it, so can you.

This. TBC, the reason my family won't support anything HP-related is NOT because I have some grand moral view that it's only acceptable to support work created by good people. It's because she is literally, publicly using the $ from her books/show/games/etc to do bad things that hurt people I love.

Last year, our team got a little overwhelmed and our message about fundraising fell by the wayside. This year, we’ve added multiple ways to get involved!
