A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)

More context on this #Artemis II image:

* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right

* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

I still don't have a bookshelf with a rolling ladder, so no, I'm afraid your email did not "find me well.”

And to this day my son and I still fondly remember Tim, the goblin who talked like a surfer dude.

I ran D&D for my youngest and the various pals when they were around the same age and it was a lot of fun. Once the party was on the cusp of a TPK with one PC still slugging it out with the baddie. When he landed a desperate final blow the kids were SO excited. Cheers, shouts, etc.

Improvised/ongoing or not, that’s a lotta game-mastering <salutes>.

Good luck!

Canadian here. We’d pile four or five of us into a friend’s bedroom to play LBB-era Traveller. Used kitchen and dining room tables for RPGs and war games at other times.

The Aubrey-Maturin series is wonderful. I’ve read them all, and re-read most of them once or twice. And “Master and Commander” is a fantastic film adaptation.

Haven’t managed to see any Smiley adaptations yet.

A Cuisinart 4-slide electronic toaster, in the midst of toasting two bagels. Just what every 19-year old boy wants lol.

My kid is turning 19 this weekend. The gift he asked for? This thing.

"wages have been flat for decades" is an extremely simple, obviously true concept that explains about 80% of all handwringing op-eds and for some reason they just won't say that

I had no idea the mascots were married. That’s so bizarre.

I think the phrase “[cultural trend, etc] has broken containment” needs to be retired immediately. Along with “this changes everything” and “has changed [something] forever.”
