I did try and use a mix of dark blue Grey and black to try and use black shading.
My other dark colors nibs are a little too thick for the size I drew

With traditional media I like to go all in on greyscale when I can, partially because it saves money on colors

And dang some of that old stuff is cringe, but the years of progress speaks for itself I think

I have found my first DA account and some of the oldest art I've ever made.
It hurts but my progress since then is inspiring at least.

Shizuka posing up a storm. This is still a sketch so no colours just yet. She's a buff naga girl with spots of scales along the sides of her face and her four arms. A simple bandanna keeps her long hair flowing behind her back with some strands curling around the sides of her face. Only one of her ears is visible from this angle and it is long and pointed. Her clothing consists of a cropped tank top, no lower clothes are visible as the sketch doesn't include her lower half.

Pictured are the two main characters from my as yet unfinished fantasy adventure book. Shizuka, a big and buff naga gal, is cheekily resting her hands and chin atop the head of her small buddy, Arenn. Arenn appears more human in shape and proportions but is actually a faerie who's wings never sprouted properly. He's an 11 year old child wearing somewhat baggy clothes, a shirt and shorts, and boots with little wings on the sides. Shizuka has a bandanna on her head with two long pointed ears poking out. The sketch of her body is incomplete so details aren't added yet, but a long thick serpentine tail is visible behind Arenn.

So my holiday wasn't as productive as I hoped. But at least I'm halfway done with my backlog of comms (sorry again😅) and getting closer to completion.
Anywho, I figured I'd drop some sketches I did for fun (and to shake loose all the rust).
