And I hear you!

I’m sorry to hear that. I write my books by drawing out mind maps and then explaining them to a friendly teddy bear (with a microphone recording the conversation.) I get this transcribed and there’s the first draft! Maybe worth a try?

Yay! How’s the studying going otherwise? I see you’re doing Greek…

Hi Will! I’m just catching up on the first day of the Trauma module. I’ve followed you here and before on Twitter for years. Enjoying the course and looking forward to meeting you in person!

At #RAHChristmas to see my son sing the solo verse of ‘Once in Royal David’s City’… it’s packed!

Oh, I think decades of running multiple projects alongside each other means this is something I’m used to already. Can you have set days for different things and always have a place to note down ideas for the ‘other’ work that crop up?

Yes, this!

Good! I’m at a residential weekend and have a great small group. Interesting multi-faith input yesterday. And volunteered to sing for worship (only two of us did - aaargh - exposed!) which was fun in the end. No assignments due to previous MA helps with mental space!

Can you help find my son’s much-loved bear?

It was in a black suitcase taken from the Edinburgh to Kings Cross train, departing at 15:30 today. Suitcase was gone when the train arrived in London. Also in the case, a colourful pillow, clothes and meds.

I am really chuffed to let you know that, following a couple of days of discernment/assessment (Stage 2) last week, I have been recommended for ordination training in the Church of England.

There is something about the power imbalance 1-2-1 that is very unhelpful and where issues often start… but Jay and his Bishop, that’s a huge power imbalance.

Absolutely. It’s a whole new category of vulnerable.

Telling that Jay was in discernment…

For me it’s telling that Jay was in the discernment process. Given the power imbalances, especially with a bishop, I wonder if there ought to be a special safeguarding category related to the vulnerability of those discerning vocation?

This is one of the biggest tragedies in our history. A preventable disaster if the government had put in the correct guidance and still five years on they are still telling us to wash our hands for an airborne virus. This virus is not mild. 1 in 10 have long covid and rising.
